Humanitys Last Hope

nothing goes as planed

It was a simple mission a snatched and grab operation this was nothing new. The only thing was the targets location was unknown so we had to go in a hostile location. The plan was simple we go in at nightfall we use our optic camouflage witch makes us practicly invisible we grab the target we get out but things are never that easy. When we got to the targets last known location the ground caved in from under us. We fell about 50 feet and the next thing I know bullets were flying.

"Return fire!!" I yelled knowing there was no cover to go to when someone has the high ground my team was surrounded we had no were to go even with all our enhancements we were getting slottered one by one my team was getting picked off in till only I was left. Next thing I know there is a grenade by my right foot.

"Fucking hell" I said as I picked up the grenade and through it back I then through a smoke grenade and climed out of the dead drop and found the nearest cover I continued to shoot at the enemy in till the were all dead.

When the shootout was over I went to use my com link to call in a extraction to pick me up. When I realized a wet area on the bottom left of my torso. I was hit I covered up the wound and sat down and waited for the chopper to get to my location. When I got back to base I was set to the infirmary, I gave a mission report to my commanding officer I've never been yelled at so much in my life, 3 weeks later I was transferred to alpha company team 7. What nobody knew was that battle would cause the nether realm to open and let the darkness out of its prison. Within 3 weeks the army of darkness had wiped out all of Iran and had started to take out Iraq. We reseaved a distress call and alpha companys teams 1 2 and 3 were sent to investigate the sorce. Mean wile I was just meeting my new team.

"Is this team 7?" I asked

For a minute they looked at me funny.

"You must be the new guy my name is Joseph I'm your Sargent. And this is is more than a team this is a family so I expect you to play nice." The Sargent said with look that made me uneasy. The Sarge I asked I call him was your typical American. He loved his job and honestly he was the best at his job.

"Yes sir" I said looking at him not showing any emotion in my face

"Names Samantha I'm the medic of the team nice to meet you."

Samatha was a redhead with bright green eyes who at first look doesnt look like much of a soldier but she held the record for best time in the shooting range she had a nice figure and a sweet toned voice and she does everything she can to keep people happy, before I could say anything back we we interrupted by the commanding officer of brovo company.

"Team 7 I have I mission for you. We have lost contact with alpha teams 1 2 and 3 your being sent to investigate any questions?"

"No sir team 7 let's move"

"well I guess introductions can wait" I thought to myself.

We got on a black hawk and headed off the the drop zone. On the way the rest of the team introduced them selves there were three other members of team 7 Michael the weapons expert he was the type of person who didn't take any shit , Zack the sniper I never got to know him very well because he didn't talk that much for I wile I even thought he was mute , and John the tech expert John is my best friend but they both know to put the mission first. We got to the drop zone we had a 5 mile walk to the location.

" alright weapons ready even one we see is considered to be hostile Joseph said.

"Well it's not like we can't take them" Michael said.

Everyone just looked at him like he was an idiot. When we got to the location there was nobody around. It gave us all a uneasy feeling.

"Well this isn't creepy at all" Samantha said

We went building to building floor to floor there was nobody in sight. When we reached the last building. The door was kicked in and bullet casings were on the ground. Blood was everywhere but there was no body's.

"Looks like whatever happened we missed it." Zack said

The as if it was planed we were attacked. Bullets flew into the building.

"Get to cover!!" Joseph yelled

After we got into cover we started shooting back. I lifted up out of my cover and shot 4 rounds into the the building across the street.

"Hey sarge didn't we check that building?" I asked as I moved position.

"Yeah we did. How did we miss this many people." Sargent answered back.

"We couldn't have missed anybody we went room to room" Samantha added in.

Then the shooting stopped. We didn't know why because we know we didn't kill them all. I raised my head and looked over to the building and saw that there was at least 19 unknown figures going into the building. Then the shooting started again but not at us they were shooting at the people that entered the building. We then took the opportunity to storm the building our self. Entered trough the back.

"Wait how do we know that was alpha?" I asked.

"What else could do a sweep and clear that quick" Zack answered looking at me like I was a idiot.

We entered the building and what we found was alpha team 1 dead but it wasn't like what you'd expect there body were hanging by they're intestines. Everyone had to turn their back and cover thir nose, due to the smell.

"What the fuck could do this?!" John asked.

"Doesn't matter what matters is the mission. Move up we have 2 more teams to find." Joseph answered

With each step we took in that building the feeling that we were being watched grew. Then a something ran twords me with a screech that would scare anybody was running twords me. I shot 5 shots at it. It stopped and stared at me with a very angry look then it started running at me again. The whole team started shooting it. It took at least 20 shots from each of us to put it down. When we got to it to see what it was we were in shock it was one of alpha squad team 2 the only thing was he had claws fangs and his eyes were bright red we radioed in and we reseaved orders to pull out none of us knew why. But orders are orders. When we got back to base we were told never to speak of what we saw. We all knew that we havent been told the whole story but we didn't care. What we didn't know was the government knew what was going on. They just didn't tell us , not surprising considering that our government is built on secrets. After the debriefing the team went out to a bar to get a drink and something to eat. We all ordered the same thing a nice cold beer me and John played a game of shots wile we chatted about old time like when we would play pranks on the Neighbors, and how we stayed up all night playing video games. You know usual best friend stuff. I never thought I would see him again but life can surprise you. We spent that night going down memory lane. Once everyone was done drinking we went back to our barracks for sleep. Waiting for the hang over the next morning witch thankfully it was our teams day off most of the team slept that whole day me I woke up at 1:00 or 1300 hours. I stayed up and just walked around looking for something to do. When I herd the sound of footsteps behind me

"So how was your morning" Samantha asked

"About the same as yours" I replied

"Well want to go out to the pool" Samantha asked

"We have a pool here?" I replied

"You didn't know we had a pool?" Samantha asked me as if she was shocked that I didn't know.

When we got to the pool we swim for about 30 minutes before I got bored I then went back to the barracks and feel back asleep. But was woke up by John who was trying to talk to me about the mission that we went on 2 day ago. I just told him to shut up about it and that if we needed to know more about what happened we would be told by our commanding officer. After that I couldn't sleep so I stayed up listening to music all night.
