Wile I was in recovery because of my wounds. My team went on 3 mission without me. I didn't like it but I knew I was in no condition to go on a mission. I noticed something odd wile in that bed , each time my team got back they all had some forms of damage to them ranging from cuts to scrapes, all except reagen who came back perfectly fine. I didn't think much of it I just found it odd. It took about a week but I got beter so I went back to the team to find out the weren't getting a mission for a wile
"I'm so fucking bored" Micheal said
"Well you guy want to smoke " Zack said smoking a joint
"Hey pass that shit" Micheal and reagen both said at the same time
But before Zach could pass the joint sarge took it and trough it in his spit cup.
"What the hell sarge." Everyone said at the same time
"I need you guys sober goddammit! " Sarge yelled leaving the squads barracks
"Don't worry guys I got 6 more." Said Zach rolling another joint
"Zach this is why we love you, holy shit this some fire" Reagen said taking a hit of the joint
"Yep it's some good shit" Micheal said
"Holly shit I need to sit down" said Samantha
"You are siting Sam" I said
"Markus hit the shit already" said Zach
"Yeah Yeah... holy fuck" I felt as if the whole world had changed for the better. I've smoked pot before don't get me wrong but the shit Zach had that day was beyond anything I ever had in my life.
"Some good shit Wright?" Zach asked
"Oh hell yeah." I answered
After about 3 hours I got up and went outside to the edge of the base Samantha followed me. I didn't notice this but she made it clear by talking to me.
"Hey can I tell you something?" Samantha asked me
"Yeah why couldn't you ?" I said still looking at the stars"
Next thing I know she's kissing me. This caught me off gard so I was shocked.
"Promise me you won't die " She said with her head against my chest.
"What the hell is this about?" I asked her unsure of what just happened.
"I don't have to tell you doI?" She asked
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm not losing my mind." I said raping my arms around her kissing her again.
I never answered her question. I live by a saying that I learned the hard way. Don't make promises in war. She and I stayed up all night just looking at the stars. It's strange how we got a break from war even when the world is under chaos. It was nice not having to shoot something for once. But this wouldn't last because the worst was yet to come.
