Chapter 4

                                                             Carlton's POV

Three years later, It's Nick's birthday and we decided to throw a party for him. I took him to the pack house because it was a surprise party. I went to get the party supplies. "Dada you go bye-bye?" he says. I smiled and said, "Daddy's going to the store." Nick: "mama" Me: "Momma's coming with us later." Nick: "bye-bye. " Me: "bye-bye"

Before I walked out, I heard Ava talking to one of her friends on the phone. Ava: "That's great Sheri, I'm happy for you." I don't know why but I like that name maybe I'll name my daughter that one day. I let Yvette keep her apartment when we want to have alone time together. We're a happy family.

                                                          Yvette's POV

These last three years being Luna was amazing. I don't know what it is, but I like being in an authoritative role. Nick's birthday is today and Carlton wanted to throw a party for him.  I let him take Nick to the pack house while I stayed at the apartment. My phone rings so I answered. "Is it time? " Me: "Not yet " "How long?" Me: "soon".

                                                         Carlton's POV

It's almost time for the party. I brought the cake to the back of the house where the pack was waiting for Nick to come. I went to upstairs to get Nick. I asked him do you wanna go outside with me? He said yes. He followed me outside and I told him to close his eyes. He did and I told him to open them. He was awe struck then we heard "Surprise! Happy Birthday Nick! " He was so happy.

We played games, ate, and had fun. Now it was time for him to blow out the candles. "Happy Birthday to Nick, Happy Birthday to Nick, Happy Birthday to Nicholas... Happy Birthday to you!" Everyone clapped and cheered when he blow out the candles.

At that moment, Yvette arrives and says "Nick, sweetie would you like mommy to help you cut the cake? " I didn't mind however my wolf felt different. What's so important that she wait so late to come to her own son's party. He said " I don't know she is a Luna." I said You're an Alpha, but you found time to prepare this little get-together for our son.

I could see his point. When the party was over Nick and I was making our way to our room. I wondered why Yvette didn't join us. I asked her and she said she needed some alone time. I was really disappointed, after today I was hoping on us trying to have a daughter.

I was going back to the apartment to get a certain toy Nick wanted. So I drove back to the apartment, on the way something didn't feel right. I made it and I saw the lights were off. I figured she wasn't home so I went in.

I got the toy out of the den and I walked to the door. I almost made it out until a heard a noise. I ignored it until I heard it again. Then I felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest, I went upstairs to her room and opened the door.

What I saw before me, I'll never forget. It was Yvette and my brother Devin having sex. I grabbed Devin by the neck and slammed him to the wall my wolf had already took over. " WHAT THE HELL?! " I said and threw him across the wall.

She walked towards me and said "Carlton stop!" I turned around and screamed, "THIS WHAT WAS SO GODDAMN IMPORTANT THAT YOU MISSED MAJORITY OF OUR SON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!" She said, "Carlton calm down" Was she serious? Did she really just say that? Tell me she just didn't say that?

"How can I calm down when you just cheated on me with my brother of all people?!" I had tears in my eyes and my voice on the verge of cracking. "It never happened! "  She says. "Unbelievable" I mutter under my breath and ran out the door and shifted. My wolf howled and the pack followed my howl. 

Sometime later, I made it back to the pack house and I went to check on my son. He looked so peaceful sleeping. "Dude you wanna talk about it ?" I heard from behind. I looked over to see Tex standing at the door. "Sure" We walk in his room and I asked where Ava was. He told me she was out with her friends.

 I told him the whole story and he was shocked. "I knew it was a reason I didn't like her." We heard from down the hall, Ava walked in. Don't worry big bro you'll find someone better and more worthy than that slut."

"We all went to Reya's house to watch a movie." "How come you never bring them here." I asked "I have you're just never around when I do, but you'll meet them one day. " And trust me bro, her friends are the finest girls you'll ever see." Ava slapped him on the back of his head. "But you know you're the sexiest one of them all." "That's more like it." 

With that I walked out and back towards my room. I looked at phone and saw I had 10 missed calls from Yvette. I called her back and naturally she answered. "Carlton can you bring Nick over tomorrow? " "Yeah." I ended the call.

I looked at Nick and finally went to sleep. The next morning I took Nick to Yvette. I tried acting civilized as I could. Nick told me goodbye and I hugged him. I didn't see him for three days. I went to go check on him to make sure he was okay.

I used the spare key to open the door. I saw Nick inside watching TV. He jumped up and gave me a hug. Where's your mom? I asked him. "Her and Uncle D up there." "Really" me and my wolf said the same time. I was about to run upstairs when I noticed a mark on Nick's arms. "Where did you get that?" my voice calm, but dangerous. "Mama shook me."

That's all it took from me to run up those steps like a bat of hell. I busted the door open, threw Devin across the room "Carlton that's it I can't take anymore of your outrage I REJECT YOU AS MY MATE. besides Devin's better you were always too soft and Devin's rough and that's how I like it." I told Yvette, " YOU SADASTIC WHORE I ACCEPT YOUR REJECTION AS MY MATE AND I'M TAKING NICK WITH ME." I got Nick drove to the car and left.

We are officially back in the pack house. The next a few days was all fine until Yvette gave me a letter saying she was fighting custody for our son. I told my parents everything that's happened (leaving out Devin's name) between us and to say they were shocked was an understatement.

I'm sitting here in this court room, thinking how did it get to this place? How did it get this far? I'm sitting here across the room looking at the woman trying to take what's mine. I'm kicking myself constantly I didn't see this before? My wolf whined in the back of my mind while watching her with a glint in her eye and a smirk on her face.

I was brought out of my thoughts when the gravel banged and it confirmed that I lost everything. I screamed no to the sky while my wolf howled in the back of my mind. I can't believe it. I just lost my son. He cried for me "Daddy!" "Don't worry son I will have you back with me. I don't know how, but I will fight for you. I love you." And just like that he was gone.
