Wayne moved swiftly through the forest, heading East towards the Shadow Caves. His stomach grumbled as he pushed his way through the forest, and the mere thought of salted venison or cooked hare made his mouth water. Water..... Wayne was parched, and his head felt dizzy. He needed to rest....
But no. He couldn't. He needed to get to the Shadow Caves and he was farther away than anybody else. Going West, away from the Caves, had been a harder trek, and an even harder trek to get back. Wayne looked up at the sun through the leafy green canopy. He was using the sun to keep himself on track, and it was much easier to do so in the mornings when all he had to do was walk towards it. When the sun peeked during the afternoon... Wayne didn't know what he'd do. The Shadow Caves were north east of the place were their team had dispersed...maybe he'd run into Alex or Mark on his way there. That would certainly make the trek easier, having a partner. Then again, they had split up for a reason. They were trackable when they were together. Wayne was sure once they met up, Juli would have a plan. She always did. Even though Wayne knew he was the dumbest of the group, he was smart enough to know that they wouldn't stay together for very long. Juli probably had a plan involving dividing and conquering the remaining three vampires. Daniel, Derek and Daphne posed a threat to innocent lives. Daniel, the most powerful of the group, had been cursed by a team like Juli's more than 400 years ago. Ever since, his siblings, Daphne, Derek and Danya had been working tirelessly to free him of the spell. Now, more than 400 years later, he was finally free. And more dangerous than ever.
