Holly finally realises

Holly’s POV

Draco woke up with tears rolling down his face. He looked down and smiled.

“I will never cheat on you. We will be a perfect family and we will be happy.” Draco said then slowly walked into the bathroom to calm down. What Draco didn’t know was that I was actually already awake. I slowly sat up and smiled as the words Draco just said circled around in my mind. I got up and walked into the living but stopped as I saw Blaise sat on my couch.

“What are you doing in my living room Zabini?” I snapped as I glared at him.

“Holly please.” Blaise said as he stood up and moved towards me.

“Get out of my living room Zabini.” I hissed as I searched for my wand. I couldn’t find it and looked around the room quickly. “I said out.” I shouted.

“What’s going on?” Draco shouted as he rushed into the room in just a towel. I looked at him then quickly looked back at Blaise trying to ignore the fact Draco was just in a towel. “What are you doing in here Blaise?” Draco asked.

“He is just leaving ain’t you Zabini?” I replied as I glared at Blaise.

“I’m not leaving until you let me explain.” Blaise said.

“Fine then I will leave.” I said then stormed over to the door. “I’ll see you later Draco.” I stormed all the way to Snape’s office totally ignoring anyone who called my name. I hexed the people who got in my way and was beyond angry when I finally reached the bloody office.

“Miss Connors what can I do for you?” Snape asked as he smiled at me.

“First thing don’t smile at me. It makes you look nice, and you are not nice.” I said and his smile vanished from his face. He glared at me as I took a seat. “Anyway I was wondering if since I am now 17 nearly 18 in 2 weeks that I could maybe take on my mother’s job at the Ministry or I could take on her job that she had here. Kingsley would allow me to work there but I would need your permission.”

“Why do you want to take her job now when just over 4 months ago you didn’t want it at all?” Snape asked.

“I want to get away from here. I can’t stand it anymore. The lessons are boring, Zabini is getting on my nerves and I don’t feel like I belong here. Hermione, Harry and Ron are all happy with their lives and don’t need me anymore, not now that Voldemort is gone. I’m not their information person anymore. I just want to leave.” I said as I looked down and let a tear fall.

“Zabini. If I may ask why are you calling Blaise by his second name?”

“Because he hates me and I hate him. He took my best friend away from me and now he is taking my friends away as well. He blames me for my mothers death and says I should have saved her. If that stupid git of a Riley hadn’t have held me back then I would have saved her by getting in the way of that curse. Now I am supposed to marry the son of the person that sent the curse. I can’t do it. It’s either I get away for a while or I actually give up my magic. I am actually thinking about giving it up. No one would miss me.” I said as I looked at Dumbledore in his portrait and smiled at him.

“Miss Connors we can not let you give up your magic. You are very special and if it wasn’t for you then Severus would be dead. I thank you for that.” Dumbledore said.

“It was no problem Professor Dumbledore.” I said as I smiled at him.

“I will get a message to the Minister explaining that you can have your mother’s job there or here which ever one you choose. We will get everything you own here then you can go to the Ministry.” Snape said as he smiled at me.
