The Girl and the Vampire (Rove)

15- Chase

Ryan's POV
Dove's not in the house. She's not here. It's like 12:30 and I need to sleep. I look through the window in her car and see her in the back seat hugging my sweatshirt. It's so cold out. I tap on the window. Dove looks up and I smile and wave at her. She smiles and opens the door. "Ryan!" She says and I hug her laying on top of her. I close the car door with my foot. Dove runs her fingers through my hair and I put my head on her chest. "Baby." I whisper kissing her shoulder and looking up to her. She smiles then slaps me. "Ow. What was that for?" I ask sitting up and holding my cheek. "What's this?" She asks holding up a piece of paper. "I don't know." I say. She rolls her eyes and hands it to me. Oh yeah that. That was from 50 years ago. "Some girl gave me her number." I say. "But you kept it?" She asks. "Sweetheart. That was from 53 years ago." I say and ripping the note and throwing it in the trunk. I rub my cheek. "I'm sorry." She whispers. I smile and pull her into my lap. "I'm not gonna cheat on you." I whisper and she leans against me. "I thought I wouldn't find you." She whispers playing with my fingers. "I didn't think I would find you either." I whisper. "Do you want to take a road trip?" I ask. "Tomorrow." She whispers cuddling against my chest. I smile and hug her. She falls asleep in my arms. I look down at her she's so cute. She's holding onto my shirt with one hand and the other is in her lap. I lay her down in my arms and she doesn't let go of my shirt making sure I don't leave. I blush and kiss her forehead. I put my head back against the door and sigh. My life is finally back to normal after 53 years. Maybe I can quit my job at the restaurant and start acting with Dove. I was in lots of musicals when I was younger it would be cool to go back to my roots. I fall asleep.

When I wake up I'm breathing heavy. Dove is still asleep. I look over and see its 3am. I lay Dove down in the back seat. Something's wrong. I look over at the house. A lights on. Oh crap. I jump in the drivers seat and slam on the gas. I hear a crash against the car and that wakes Dove up. "Ryan what's going on?!" She yells. "Put your seatbelt on and hold on!" I yell. She does and I swerve missing the car. I know that car. That's the guy who turned me into a vampire. They're chasing us. I go faster. They corner us. I have a choice and have two seconds. Run into someone's house or over the rail. Rail. I go faster.  "Dove I love you!" I yell. She looks scared. I break the rail and the car flies over the edge of the hill. I try to regain control, but can't. We hit a tree and the air bags go off. I look through the mirror. The cars stop and drive the opposite way. I look back at Dove her head is down. "Dove." I say unbuckling my seatbelt. I get a shocking pain in my shoulder. The one I was shot in. I climb into the back. "Dove please wake up." I say and gently shake her. "Dove wake up." I panic. "Ryan?" She mumbles. "Dove." I whisper and put her in my lap. "Baby can you hear me?" I ask her eyes are still closed. She nods slowly and a tear runs down my cheek. "Dove can you open your eyes?" I ask her. She breaths unevenly and struggles to open her eyes. She puts her hand up to my cheek. "Kiss me." She whispers. I blush and smile. I kiss her for awhile. I feel her smile and I smile too. I rock back and forth slowly and we continue to gently make out in the back of our crashed car. We pull away and she smiles at me. "What hurts baby?" I ask. "I don't know. I'm just really...sore." She whispers. I nod and push hair back behind her ear. "Are you...ok?" She whispers. I nod and she wipes away a tear running down my cheek with her thumb. I weakly smile. "My vampire." She whispers. "I'm not anymore." I whisper. "I know." She whispers. I smile and kiss her again. "I love you Ry." She whispers. "I love you too, sweetheart." I whisper back. She smiles and I say "We better get going. Why don't you stay back here it's safer." She nods and buckles up again. I reset the air bags and start driving again. I have a feeling that won't be the end of the chase.
