Oliver ran and did not want to look back. He ran as fast as his legs would take him.
"What's the matter, my boy? Scared of a little death?" laughed Nestor.
'No, I am not scared of that. I am scared of never seeing Astrid again.' he thought as he ran to get away from Nestor.
Nestor let another arrow loose. The arrow was expertly aimed and was soaring to its target. Oliver turned just in time to try to avoid the arrow.
The arrow grazed his right shoulder, causing him to gasp in pain. 'Any closer, and that could have been seriously bad!' He grabbed his shoulder and continued running. Another arrow grazed the side of his left leg. Then another grazed his left cheek. 'I need to get out of here!' Oliver continued running, panic and adrenaline being the only thing that kept him on his feet.
"Ser Oliver!" yelled one of the guards who had seen him running towards the manor. The guard rushed out to aid Oliver. Oliver graciously accepted his help.
"Captain.. He's coming.. He is armed with a bow and a-" he stopped and grunted as an arrow pierced the flesh on his upper back.
"Oliver!" the captain shouted. Oliver slumped over into a mess of tears and blood.
"Take him down! There's only one that I've seen.." Oliver commanded as he spoke between his teeth.
"Oliver.. there's more than one.." the guard said as thirty more men approached the manor from the grass and trees around them. "How long have they been there?"
"I have no idea, but I shall not stand for this disrespect. We leave the humans in peace, and this is their thanks?" Oliver said, growing more and more frustrated. Oliver stood up and swayed. "If you need me.. I will be getting.." he coughed a bit of blood up. "treatment.. Take care of these men. I put my faith in you. Do not let me down.." He staggered towards his home, collapsing again. One of the guards quickly pulled him off the ground and helped him to the front of the manor. 'I think.. that arrow.. might have hit something important..' Oliver thought to himself.. 'Gods, I hope not..'
"Oliver!" cried a familiar voice.
