you and Ethan were getting ready for your annual family dinner when you heard him shout really loudly.

"Babe? What's wrong?" You asked, walking into the bathroom, while zipping up your tight red dress.

"I just fucking cut myself!" he threw his razor down and sat on the toilet seat with his head in his hands.

"Ethan? What's up with you recently? You've been so impatient and angry?" You asked, sitting on the edge of the bathtub.

"I'm sorry. It's just... work." He said, unsurely.

"are you sure?" you asked, still concerned.

"yeah. That's all." He said getting up and continuing to shave.

"Okay love." You say, planting a kiss on his cheek and walking out.

You completed getting ready by applying some winged eyeliner, mascara and a classic red lipstick to match your dress. You slid on your black heels.

Just as you were placing in your last earring, you felt two arms wrap around you. You turned around to see a calm Ethan now.

"y/n, did you know that I love you?"

"hmm... nope." you giggled staring into his hazel eyes.

he looked down at you in complete lust. 

"well I love you very much." Ethan said, pecking your nose.

"well I love you more." You challenged him.

"well I love you most." He smiled at you.

"Touché." You winked at him.

*2 hours later*

Your whole family was halfway through their meal when Ethan tapped his wine glass, standing up and clearing his throat. You were confused.

"excuse me everyone. May I please have your attention?" When Ethan did this, he gained the entire restaurants attention in fact.

you smiled to yourself knowing how shy Ethan was.

"wow. I didn't expect this many eyes on me." He was a little taken back. Everyone made slight laughs.

"I'd just like to say that this is the 5th annual family dinner we've spent together today and it's been amazing. Spending 6 years with this beautiful lady has honestly lit up my whole world. I can't thank her enough." Ethan began.

You looked at him in complete surprise. You weren't expecting a full speech.

"anyway, that's besides the point. I know that you're not expecting this y/n but..."

you noticed Ethan searching for something in his back pocket. He got down on one knee, kneeling by your chair. You covered your mouth in shock.

"I can't help falling in love with you." he spoke.

you felt tears roll down your cheeks. A smile crept across your face.

"will you, y/n y/l/n marry me?" Those words. They spent shivers down your spine.

you looked around the restaurant. Everyone was nodding and mouthing a 'yes'. Suddenly a random guy from across the place shouted "don't leave the guy hanging!"

you looked at Ethan, both of you exchanging laughs.

"Ethan, did you know that I love you?"

Everyone cheered and cried happily as you kissed Ethan passionately.

"ITS A YES!" He yelled excitedly.
