Two Years Later-
Arora couldn't stop herself from waking up so early ,even after a few years her dreams guilt trip her more. She got to the training grounds early but was very surprised when she saw Reaper doing his pushups. She ignored his presence and went straight to the bags.
They didn't say a word to each other but glare from time to time. She kicked the bag and remembered why her and Reaper weren't on speaking terms except for when they on the battlefield. She kicked the bag harder and cursed herself for feeling emotion.
"Ro, Reaper, my office now" a voice called their names.. They turned to see Sarge walking away, so they followed him to his office.
" it came to my understanding that you two are having fall outs with each other, and this continues from the Portman situation, but your own. You both need to fix your problems and move on an work as a team. Am I understood?" Sarge said looking at them.
"Understood sir" they both said an walked out of his office before they could get dismissed. He shook his head as they walked out!
Arora walked to her locker an pulled out a fresh tank top an sweats. On her way out she shoved herself into Reaper moving him out of her way an made her way out of the barracks..
"Damn Reaper y'all still not talking to each other.... Don't worry she will come around... We all can't expect her to be fine after everything she went through and you know that. Its gonna be a while till she trusts everyone else besides Goat". Duke says to him. He shakes his head and went to his desk yo clean his rifle.
Everyone knew why me and Reaper weren't on best of terms, can you blame me? I'm just not ready to open up to other people besides Goat. I couldn't move on; the only thing I could do was grieve with rage!
Reaper always put himself on the line for me and I never understood why.
My muscled were relaxed and my mind was cleared as I made my way out of the showers an wrapped myself in my towel.I walked to the bench only to find Reaper sitting on the bench with his head between his hands.
"Never knew you were another Portman, John!" She said harshly at him. He didn't say a word back and that wasn't like him, he would usually have a snarky comment to say in return but he just looked like a lost puppy. She grabbed her clothing and started to dress herself. Her whole body was covered with gun shot scars an knife wounds. Reaper sat their quiet still not having to say anything to me. But what surprised me was with what he said.
"I'm sorry Ro", was all he said before he walked out of the showers. I sighed an punched the locker in frustration. 'Damn you Reaper' was all her mind could muster up to say. Guess it was her time to face the outcome.
She always wanted to open up and tell somebody but how can she tell somebody how broken she is when that one person puts himself on the line to save others! This was just one of those days where she wish was laying in that battlefield with her old unit and join them.
She walked down the staircase, pass the kitchen, and walked back to the barracks. Mac was pitching oranges to Destroyer who was batting them with his aluminum baseball bat! Goat was reading his favorite bible, Psalms; my favorite... Duke was playing with his generic video game as the dumb fuck Portman was pacing back and forth mad at the fact transport was late an how he wouldn't be able to get R&R from the girls who got penis's and pretends their woman.
I glanced around the barracks, that I was staying in because I don't have family out there so Sarge allowed me to stay here..
The kid was moping his side of the cot, and in the back my eyes spot Reaper who was cleaning his rifle.. not really a surprise he always goes back there.Arora made her way towards the back and leaned against the wall, leaning over the wall getting a good look over his shoulder admiring how well he cleaned his weapons.
