It's been 2 years since she died.

One more problem, it's Chayl's birthday.

"Why? Why did you have to be killed?" I pleaded to the skies.

Owen and Claire stayed on the island when I returned home with a helicopter.

I ran my finger over the picture I held. It was taken the week Chayl hatched.

"I wish I could have you back.." I cried.

I put the picture back on the bedside table, picking up the one next to it.

It was taken a few weeks after I started working at Jurassic World.

Me and Claire stood side-by-side in front of the 'Old Pyramid', as I liked to call it.

More tears fell at the sight of this.

I would never see Claire again.

I set the picture back down and turned out the light, my tears staining my pillow as I fell asleep.

"I just want my friend back." I pleaded.

The next day I was awoken by a knock at the door.

I got up from bed, my eyes blurry with sleepiness.

Walking, more like dragging myself, to the door, the bright light of the living room almost blinded me.

"Who is it?" I called from inside.

No reply.

I opened the door, looking around.

A small bark sounded from below me and I looked down.

On my doorstep, sat a little, off-white puppy with crimson red eyes.

"C-could it be?" I asked, my voice a low whisper.

"Chayl?"

The puppy bark in response.

I picked up my old friend, her fur slightly cold.

"It's really you." I cried, nuzzling her soft fur.

Chayl has come back to me. Thank you, God. Thank you..
