Rough Love

Chapter 1

I woke up to the smell of bacon cooking in the kitchen downstairs. Suddenly, my stomach rumbled loudly and I rubbed my eyes tiredly.
Slowly, I got out of bed and put on my school uniform, groaning as I remembered it's a Monday.
"ALICE HURRY UP! BREAKFAST IS READY!" My mother called up to me.
"COMING!" I called back.
I rushed downstairs and into the kitchen where my mother was setting the table for breakfast.
"You'll have to walk to school today Alice, your father is using the car to get to work," my mother said sitting down on a kitchen chair and eating her bacon elegantly.
"Oh, okay," I said, taking a seat opposite to her.
After I finished my breakfast, I left to go to school.

Once I got to school, I had 10 minutes before the bell rang. I rushed into the front doors and waited for my best friends, Cameron and Jade, to arrive.

After about five minutes, they arrived together holding hands. Yes, they are dating and I'm so happy for them.
"Hey guys, we better get going to first period. Don't wanna be late," I said, smiling.
Jade rolled her eyes and said,"Alice, your such a goodie two shoes! The bell hasn't even rang yet for goodness sake,"
Cameron laughed, "Jade, don't be mean. If Alice wants to go now, she can,"
I smiled because Cameron has always been kind to me no matter what.
"I was only joking Cam, c'mon let's all go together," Jade said linking arms with me and Cameron slid his arm around Jade's waist.

It's first period and we have English with Miss Cook. She's so annoying and her accent drives me crazy!
I sit next to Jade which is a bad idea because she always has her earphones in and she has her music blaring, so I can't concentrate on my work. I don't say anything otherwise she would call me a nerd and I hate being called that especially by my best friend.
"Okay class, today you are going to work in pairs and you will create a poster on The Titanic and I will be picking your pairs," Miss Cook said, smiling.
I say up straight and put a smile on my face because I loved everything about the Titanic, it was such a sad but an amazing event.
"Okay, I've already picked the pairs so listen carefully...JADE PUT YOUR EARPHONES OUT RIGHT NOW!" Miss Cook shouted to Jade.
Jade didn't listen and started humming loudly.
I nudged her and she looked at me.
"What?" She asked. Then she looked at Miss Cook who was standing right in front of her with a stern look on her face.
"Please Miss Evans, take your earphones out and listen to me," Miss Cook said.
Jade slowly took her earphones out and rolled her eyes.
"Okay, so here are the pairs. We have Jade with Alexa...Cameron with Alice...James with Sarah...Hannah with Morgan...Lola with Emma..." And so on...

After the pairs where announced, we had to sit next to our partners. I was so glad that I was with Cameron because we the best of friends. I looked at Jade who was with the emo girl Alexa and giggled because Jade hates Alexa.
"So, we have to make a poster on the titanic..easy right?" Cameron said to me.
"Yup, easy peasy," I said smiling.
Cameron laughed and flipped his hair out of his face.
