***Amy's POV***
Leeroy was actually pretty cool. I hope they don't judge him by what he wears, because that isn't fair.
I was spaced out and before I knew Leeroy had taken me by the hand and started running down the hall. We occasionally slowed down when we would near a classroom or teacher.
Whenever we stopped running I always heard people say things like, "Why did she pick the loser," or "Leeroy never has a chance," or "Ew, the losers got together."
I was getting so fed up with it. One of the comments was very uncalled for. It was made by the star football player and I think I remember from chemistry that his name was Austin. He said, "I bet Leeroy is gonna take every chance he can to get sex out of her. He has always been the loser who nobody would touch."
I was furious. I marched over to Austin with all of my confidence, slapped him across the face, kneed him where the sun don't shine, and layed a fist into his face. "Next time you wanna say something about Leeroy and me, you better watch your back dumbass. I can hit MUCH harder." I say putting the emphasis on 'Much.'
I turn around to see a Leeroy with tears pouring out of his eyes. But I couldn't tell if they were happy or sad tears.
***Leeroy's POV***
A-Amy defended me again. I started to cry the minute she started to beat on Austin. I mean, I know a man isn't supposed to cry. But face it. I'm no man. Never have and never will be.
When Amy turned around and saw me crying she looked confused. I hope she knew they were happy tears. Just the way she looked at me. She looked at me like, "Why? Why do you put up with this?"
That look made me feel horrible. I just ran off and hid in an empty classroom and locked the door behind me. I didn't get a chance to see what Amy did as I ran. I couldn't hear footsteps or my name being called behind me as I ran.
I had sat in the corner of the empty room for about 10 minutes. Then I heard keys jingling, the lock being messed with, and the door popping open.
"Thank you, sir," I heard Amy's beautiful voice thank the janitor.
Yes. Beautiful. She is beautiful. Everything about her is beautiful. Her hazel eyes that sparkle with joy. He long brown hair that flows like a waterfall. Stop it Leeroy. You never have a chance.
I snapped out of it when I felt Amy's hand on my shoulder. Oh my god. I am alone. In the same room. As Amy.
"Leeroy, what else happened back there? Why did you run off like that?"
"Amy. The way you looked at me. It was a look of disappointment. As if asking why I put up with all this crap. I couldn't take it. Your eyes, just looking at me with that expression. It hurt. I love seeing joy in your eyes, not worry. I don't want you to worry about me. I've grown up this way. I just want you to be as hap-..."
I can't believe was is happening right now... Never in a million years would I ever think this would happen.
