As I walked inside the school to find out where my classes are, I was followed by Leeroy.
"Is everything alright, Leeroy," I ask.
"Well, you said to stick with you, and I can always help you find your classes'" he responds.
"That's very sweet, Leeroy. I wouldn't mind if you could show me to my classes." I smiled. Leeroy wasn't that bad.
I spaced out when I heard, "Helloooo!! Amy?" I looked to see an extended hand. "Can I see your schedule, Amy?" He laughed.
"My, my, my, my, my. We've got all our classes together, Honey Cakes. This is just per-fect," Leeroy said while snapping his fingers from side to side.
Honey Cakes? What did Leeroy just call me? Oh well. It can't be anything too bad.
The first bell rang signaling it was time to go to our first class. Our first class was Chemistry. Leeroy led me into this room that had many lab tables, beakers, and test tubes.
Leeroy and I were assigned seats next to each other. The desk are tables in which two people sit per table.
Leeroy got major excited.
He leaned over to whisper in my ear, "Thank you for being a friend. I never really had any friend." He quieted down at the last part looking down to his lap.
I looked up and noticed he caught some people's attention by speaking a little too loudly.
I didn't care. Poor Leeroy. He feels bad. He wants to protect my reputation.
I whisper back, "Leeroy. If you think I care about what everybody else thinks, I don't. Don't feel bad if you think you are ruining my reputation, because you aren't." At first I cared about my reputation, but making people happy is better than a reputation.
He looked up at me, tears forming in his eyes. "You promise?" He asked.
I nodded, wiped away the tears that have escaped from his eyes, a kissed him lightly on the cheek.
Why I kissed his cheek, I have no idea, but more people began to notice my compassion towards Leeroy.
I did a little girly wave with my fingers and the cutesy smile, and kissed Leeroy on the cheek again.
I wanted to prove a point. I wanted to prove that everyone is just as equal as the next. All I got were some eye rolls and scoffs.
As long and I was happy, and I made Leeroy happy, I didn't care what people thought of me.
