Holding the paper bag containing the chocolates for Valentine's, I made my way down to the volleyball court to pass them to Kageyama and the other players. They weren't the kind of chocolates you give to the boy you like though, these chocolates were *Gratitude Chocolates. Obviously, I couldn't give Gratitude Chocolates to Tsukishima ( according to **Chiyoko's Law of Relationships ) because we were a 'couple' and I had to give him the other kind of chocolates that represented 'like like' an-and just ughhh.
Torture.
Ever since what happened during the rain incident, well, we didn't tell anyone about it. So basically we just acted as usual - the sweet lovey-dovey façade in front of people ; the mocking glares behind people.
Lord, let this act be over soon. Amen.
Silently saying a prayer in my heart, unknowingly, I'd reached the volleyball court. Deep breath. Big smile. Enter me.
"Hi, everyone!" I said enthusiastically while waving a hand.
Hinata was the first to look over. At the chocolates. His eyes immediately lighted up and he was just so cute like a wittle excited smol-
Composure, composure.
He was acting like a 11 year old and it was cute. That's all.
"[Y/N]!" they greeted in unison.
I smiled again. "Happy Valentine's Day, guys! Told you I'd make chocolates for everyone." I waved the paper bag in the air.
"Thanks [Y/N]." Sugawara smiled and helped me pass around the chocolates.
"It was nothing. Just a sign of gratitude for being such great friends to me," I smiled and waved it off. Because it really was nothing, having friends like them was good enough and Gratitude Chocolates aren't enough to show appreciation.
"Pshh."
I looked over beside me to see Hinata pointing in the direction of the court entrance. "Tsuki went to toilet just now, you can give him his chocolates now," Hinata said.
Huh, I didn't even realize he was gone. To be honest, I felt a little bad.
Tsukishima raised a brow at the scene before him. Guess he was curious about why everyone had chocolates.
I felt a little tug at the hem of the sleeve. Hinata did a 'there-he-is' motion with his eyes, probably wanting me to give me Tsukishima his chocolates. Hinata gave me an assuring smile and I smiled back and made my to Tsukishima.
All of a sudden, the short distance between me and Tsukishima felt like it went on forever and my steps became fidgety. Walking felt unnatural and I wondered whether I looked like an alligator learning how to walk on two feet. Stupid self-consciousness.
Ultimately, I did make my way in front of Tsukishima.
"Hi."
Tsukishima grunted in acknowledgement ( if that was acknowledgement ). "Why does everyone have chocolates?" He asked, nodding towards the others.
"I made it for them."
"Mm."
My hand reached down into the paper bag to get Tsukishima's chocolates but retreated for some reason. I looked away from him and scratched my neck. "I...was just leaving."
