The sun had just set behind the horizon, when a group of teenagers were walking down an abandoned road, talking and laughing carelessly. They all had one specific idea swimming in their minds: to break into Creakwood High. The old, rotting, abandoned high school situated on the outskirts of town.

Many rumours about tortured spirits, screaming devils, and monsters of all sizes and shapes that haunted this building were whispered everyday in the quiet town of Ashville. This group had heard it all, and had whispered a generous amount of rumours themselves, but still, they chose to ignore it all.

"Uh, guys? Are you sure this is a good idea?" Asked Adam, his paranoia showing as his voice broke at the end of the sentence.

"Oh, cheer up Adam, we're just gonna pay Old Man Hennick a visit," Oliver told him with a wink.

Old Man Hennick was Creakwood's former principal. Rumours say he died a slow and gruesome death on the school grounds. His body was found bloodied and bruised on the pavement next to the school, and rumour has it that his spirit is now trapped inside the school, haunting every locker and tile in those halls.

"Yeah, we'll just go in, have a look around, and walk out the same entrance doors. Nothing harmful about that, right?" Brooke added with a smile. Always the optimist. Even though she wouldn't admit it, she too had an odd feeling in her gut every time she thought about their plans, but chose to ignore that too.

Adam cringed, "I guess so. No longer than half an hour though. That place gives me the creeps."
On the other side of the group, Sarah, Connor and Aurora were talking about their weekend plans.

Aurora looked down at the floor as she smiled, thinking of her little brother, Kyle.
"It's Kyle's birthday on Sunday, I decided to get him a couple of Marvel comics since he's so obsessed with superheroes lately. You have no idea how any times I've stepped on a mini action figure."
Sarah looked up at the sky, staring at all the glimmering stars and finding the scenery oddly relaxing as they strolled down the street.

"Yeah. Younger siblings can be quite the nuisance." Connor said in a soft tone, not wanting to disturb the serenity that seemed to be falling upon them, like snowflakes falling upon the ground.

Sarah snapped out of her daze at the mention of Aurora's brother, "Damn it. That's what I forgot," she said, staring right at Aurora before continuing, "I bought Kyle a birthday present, but I completely forgot about it. Is it okay if I give it to you on Sunday morning?"

Aurora sighed and looked back at Sarah, shaking her head slightly, "Sarah, you know you didn't have to."

Sarah shrugged her shoulders and smirked lightly, "It's too late now. No refunds. Plus, I already wrapped it and everything. I'll drop it off early Sunday morning."

"You're not really giving me much of a choice anyways," Aurora muttered under her breath.

Sarah grinned, nodding her head, "Yup. Sorry, love." She added, blowing her a kiss.

Connor watched their conversation unfold with amusement shinning in his eyes.
What an odd pair.
