The warehouse is large but camouflaged by the trees surrounding it which must explain why it had remained undiscovered for so long. George encourages me to follow him quietly, I walk slowly behind him with my hand on my knife, you can never be sure what is around the corner. We approach a hidden room in the dark corner at the back of the warehouse. "Oh no!" George calls out. "What's happened" I call back as I run to see what he is looking at. George begins to cry as he stares at the room now filled with The Infected. "I should never have left her" George sobs as he speaks. "This is where you left Cindy?" I ask as my heart sinks.
A piercing scream fills the air. "What was that? I say as I begin to search for the source of the sound. "I think it's Cindy" I say shakily as I grab George's arm. "Come on" I run towards the scream dodging the boxes that lay abandoned. "I see her she's trapped, quick there's one of the infected trying to reach her"
I run towards the infected knife in hand and attempt to sink my knife into its brain. As my knife is about to enter its skull a hand pushes me out of the way "I've got this" George says as he goes to kill the infected. The push causes me to lose my balance and fall into the metal shelf that has trapped Cindy. "Sorry" I say as I try to steady myself and remove the shelf from on top of Cindy. "There's more" George says as he runs towards another of the infected. I look over to the heard of infected that George is now approaching. "George stop" I shout but it is too late he kills another infected, the rest of the infected turn in sync and start making there way to him. "What have you done, there's too many of them" I say angrily. I look back towards Cindy who is still stuck beneath the metal shelf. I try to lift it from her but it is too heavy. "George help me" I demand as I begin to panic. The shelf remains stuck as the heard of Infected are now dangerously close to us.
The metal shelf scrapes along the floor as it shifts slightly more with each attempt to free Cindy, her sobs get louder with every shove of the shelf luring the Infected in. Eventually the shelf lifts off of Cindy before being tossed aside by George causing more noise "shh" I scold before Cindy scurries into my arms.
I take Cindy's hand before heading in the opposite direction to the Infected I head through the maze of abandoned merchandise, dodging items every now and then with George in tow. As we approach the edge of the warehouse I notice an open window which i instantly climb through. I wait for Cindy and George to follow me before shutting the window firmly. A face slams into the window before I can take a step back which causes me to lose my footing, stumbling back I look though the window to see one Of the infects faces pressed against the glass showing its discoloured, jagged teeth and its peeling, disintegrating skin as its eyes search for an available meal. As its eyes land on me it bears its teeth before clawing at the window. Soon its joined by more Infected, effectively blocking us in.
This secluded part of the warehouse has many boarded up windows as well as a few doors making the window we entered through our only obvious escape.
