We woke up in a dogpile.
Aonair was on the bottom.
I was laying across him, and Marlana was stretched out across my legs. I yawned and shoved myself off of my new boyfie and let Marlana slide off my legs and onto the carpet floor with a dull thud. Aonair woke up at that and smiled, poking my cheek. I just laughed it off and yawned sleepily. I inhaled the air and coughed, turning on the TV and opening the blinds of a window.
The view of the countryside was blocked by haze and smoke. The Asylums local station was stating how fires from other Asylums that had been having mass breakouts were sending Smoke in our direction. I turned the air conditioner off and just resorted to turning down the Thermostat. I looked at the statistics that te brunette news lady was spouting off. Over twenty percent of Asylums worldwide had been broken out of and there was no more executioners. They'd all been killed by Numb Ones.
I looked at Aonair and we shared a huge grin, as did Marlana. Then, the TV switched to the owner of the Asylum.
"You know me. I'm Devon Reinn. This Asylum will be breaking out tomorrow at noon. Expect a fight between us and Crazies. I will now list those enrolled on our combat list.
Olivia G.
Megan H.
Matt S.
Aonaira B.
Aonair G.
Marlana H.
Pheonix R.
Del-rae
and Daniel G.
All the rest will stay behind. We will be joining with the surviving escapees of the Northern Oklahoma Asylum. Your combat mates will be:
Austin B.
Henry S.
Carl G.
Brian G.
Sandra O
Micah K.
Trinity E.
Shelly W.
and
Brittany L.
That is All. Combateers meet us at the roof."
I was shocked that I had made the combat list.
Me and Marlana had enrolled for the hell of it. We never expected to actually have to fight.
David rushed in and hugged Marlana and I and wished us luck. I held Aonairs hand all the way up the Fire escape. Marlana was shaking almost as much as the stairs were.
"I dont want to fight on his side." Marlana cried. She had to fight alongside her Ex.
I patted her shoulder and nodded.
"I know sweetie."
Aonair squeezed my hand.
We broke the surface and climbed out onto the cold concrete of the roof.
The other Asylums combat team was in a line.
To Marlana's horror, she was Paired with Austin. She walked to his side in tears. Some people were paired with our own squad. Olivia ended up with Megan and I ended up with Aonair.
Perfect matches.
I looked back at Marlana, who was in tears and Austin was holding her hand with a sullen look on his face.
She snatched her hand away.
Megan and Olivia donned Machine Guns.
We were ready for a fight.
I just hoped Marlana and her ex could shape up in time.
Devon spoke up.
"EVERYONE STAND TO ATTENTION. THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY."
I looked over the edge the roof to see the first wave of Crazies.
And on the front lines was my dad.
I grabbed a sniper rifle and took the first shot.
Right between the eyes.
I cried both sadly and happily as blood sprinkled from the wound and he dropped.
The barrage on gunfire from our side was music to my ears.
I watched as Olivia and Megan dropped about two hundred men with one round each.
Let the Revolution begin.
