When we walked to the club, I didn't say anything. I had one of these moments when I was thinking about things and I was in my "mind palace" (he he ;) ). When we finally got there, loud music could be heard from the inside. I wasn't really comfortable with it, I was mostly an introverted person (sorry if u aren't) and I didn't like crowds, loud music, wild parties... I didn't really know why I decided to go to the party. I guess it's for Elena and Nate. Well, Nate mostly...
When we walked inside, I held onto Nate's arm. He knew that I wasn't a big fan of parties. We soon saw Elena's friend.
- Elena! You look beautiful, as always! - he complimented her, cheering.
- heh, thanks, Tony. You look great as well.
- and this is Nate, Sully and (y/n)? Pleasure to meet you. - he said, gripping Nate's and Sully's hands and kissing mine.
- so, this is Tony, my friend. - Elena said. I smiled. He was a gentleman, I liked it.
- now, if you'll excuse me and Elena, we have something to do... - he said and they left.
- I'll go get something to drink. - Nate said and also left. I sat on the couch with Sully.
- you love Nate, don't you? - he asked. I widened my eyes. Oh well, I guess everybody knows that now...
- God, really, is it that obvious? - I asked, already given up.
- listen, (y/n)... I really think that you should tell him about your feelings. If you're afraid that it'll destroy your friendship, don't be. You've been friends for more than 15 years. It can't be broken. - he said, putting his hands on mine and looking into my eyes. I looked at him worriedly.
- OK, I'll tell him. But give me some time. - I answered.
- that's my girl. - he said, smiling. I smiled back. He was like father to me and Nate since we were 15. I knew I could always count on him.
Then, I saw something that broke my heart. In the corner of the room stood Nate with some girl and it looked like they were flirting. I widened my eyes in fury and quickly walled past them, heading to the toilets. I walked into the toilet room and looked at myself in the mirror.
You're not worth him.
You're ugly.
He doesn't want you.
You'll never be with him.
I started tearing up a little. Then, I heard someone stepping in the toilets. It was Nate.
- (y/n), what happened? You looked so furious back there... - he asked worriedly.
- I'm fine, maybe you should go to your fancy girl that you've been flirting with! - I answered angrily.
- w-what girl? You mean that woman that talked to me?
- yeah, that one! You looked like you had quite fun together!! - I turned to him and almost shouted those words.
- she started this! I just wanted to discreetly end the talk, but she wouldn't let me! - he said, trying to explain himself. My heart was beating hard, I guess in anger and... Jealousy?
I looked down. He put his hand on my shoulders and looked me in the eyes.
- listen to me, (y/n)... You're the only one important woman in my life. I would never change you to someone else. You're my little (your nickname), right? - he stroke my hair. He was right. He's too much important for me to be mad at him.
- OK, Nate. Let's pretend that nothing happened, okay? - I asked.
- okay. - he answered and hugged me. I hugged back and we stood in silence for about two minutes. Then, I heard a very known sound.
- Nate, come with me... - I took his hand and walked away from the toilets.
Yes, I know this music, it was (your favourite slow song).
- Nate, please, dance with me! - I asked , jumping in one place. He chuckled and said:
- OK. OK, come on.
We walked to the dancefloor. There were other couples dancing. I was stressed a bit, it was going to be my first slow dance with Nate (well, my first slow dance with anybody...). Soon, we started to slowly dance. It was so good. We stared in each others eyes and slowly moved on the parquet. After some time, I laid my head on his shoulder. He had his arms around my back and mine were around his waist. Elena, Tony and Sully were watching us the whole time and smiled. When the song was about to finish, we slowly scooted closer to each other and when we were about to kiss, a light blinded us (deja vu, right? ._.).
- OK, the party's over, people. The guy who arranged it is sick and he went home. You should head to yours, too. - some guy said on the microphone.
Come on fate, you can't do this forever...
