Don't you let go!

Take a look around!

You are not alone...

I sang with all my heart because it was one of my favorite songs. Meanwhile, I was getting ready for the small party I organized for myself for today, my so expected fifteenth birthday. I slipped on a wine red sleeveless blouse with black and purple designs, denim shorts, and a pair of high black boots that had a small heel. My crescent moon necklace always on my chest. I loved the small ruby that was incrusted in the middle.

After one or two songs, they called me because Lucy had arrived. My heart beated faster and a smile automatically appeared in my face. I ran out of my room, only to come back again and spray some perfume over me and then going out again.

I went downstairs and there was Lucy. She was wearing a cute lilac dress along with a black sweater and flats of the same color. She looked adorable as always. I got nearer and she ran and wrapped me in one of her typical hugs, so I had her hanging from me. But she was so thin that I almost couldn't feel her. I smiled at her and caressed her hair.

I greeted her parents, we started talking and, after a while, Sam arrived. Lucy waved her arms around energetically as a way of greeting her, and because of that, her mother scolded her. She only stuck out her tongue at her mother. My siblings were tlaking between them and playing. My sister was besides me, as always. Right now I had Kiara on my left, Lucy on the right and Sam next to her. I love it. We're like a small family... It is as if Sam, Lucy and I were the eldest sisters and Kiara the youngest. But for me, Lucy and Kiara were the ones I had to protect. And Sam and I, the ones who protected.

We started talking, playing and telling bad jokes. Okay... I admit the one that told the bad jokes was me... But well! We were about to play a game in which we had tell apart my twin brothers from each other when we heard loud bangs on the front gate. Mi dad stood up. Ha! Whatever drunk that's there will be sorry for interrupting us. My father is slightly more than 6 feet tall and isn't very thin...

"He's the son of a friend of ours, isn't he, Miguel?" My dad asked Sam's.

The guy was tall, but my dad was like a head taller than him. He had thin features, but didn't seem to be weak, even though I couldn't say because he was wearing lots of clothes. His hair was black and so were his eyes, his skin was tanned and his gaze held a cunning spark. He asked for a private talk with them. They got out and, in that moment, Sam bent towards me and asked me to go with her to check on the guy. He had made me shiver, so... I nodded.

"Mom, we'll be gone for some minutes. We'll go for something Sam left here last time she came," I said, standing up. Sam stood up too.

"Okay," answered my mother and then continued talking.

We followed them, pretending not to be doing what we were planning to even though nobody was paying attention to us. Lucy looked at us once but turned around again. Sam was leading. When we poked our heads to see, I noticed Sam was going to scream, so I covered her mouth with my hands, although I barely could stay that way because of how much I was shaking from how scared I was in that moment. My... My dad... Our parents...

"It's been a long time since we've last seen each other... And this will be the last time," said the guy, who was standing up in front of our fathers' corpses that were slowly bleeding out to death.

I dropped my hand from Sam's mouth and I dragged her inside the house. We entered and everyone was looking at us. But I didn't notice that. All that was in my mind was my father choking on his own blood. His throat... Blood that poured out... A dark hole... Coughing...
