I was sitting in my room on my bed all alone when I heard a knock at my door, it was Uncle Liam, honestly fancy him thinking he could come in here after the way he treated me, my life was going downhill so fast and all I needed was his support and what did he do, he ignored me, just when I needed him the most.
"Lux?" Uncle Liam asked with a small smile "may I come in?"
"sure" I answered while bringing my knees to my chest
"Lux look i'm so, so sorry I acted the way I did" he admitted with a sad look plastered on his face
"Then why did you Uncle Liam I don't understand why you ignored me for so long and now you just decide to come back and acknowledge me now after everything that I've been through" I asked almost at a yell, tears brimming in my eyes
"Lux" Uncle Liam started, "I... I just didn..."
"No! Uncle Liam, I was slipping into depression because of the things I put up with at school and at home, mum and dad are always fighting and every day I get teased and bullied at school pushes me closer and closer towards the edge and with you ignoring me gave me that one final push I needed to send me over!"
"Lu..."
"But you know what Uncle Liam, there was someone there someone to catch me, someone to stop me from falling, you know who that was Uncle Liam?"
"no" he answered, his voice small and almost fragile
"well his name is Ross, I met him for the first time the other day, at the park, after I ran away, after you gave me that push and he caught me, he stopped the fall"
"Lux I really don't know what to say, I had no idea what was going on with you at school or at home, but if I had, I hadn't of ever dreamt of doing any of the things that I did to you because I love you Lux, your my little girl and you always have been"
At this moment the tears forming in Uncle Liam's eyes were enough to send me over the edge collapsing into his strong embrace and letting all of the built up anger and sadness just flow out of me.
"Uncle Liam?" I asked hoping he wasn't mad at my recent outburst
"Yeah Lux" he replied stroking my hair and calming me down
"I love you too Uncle Li" I smiled before we both slowly but surely drifted off to sleep together, tight in each others embrace.
