Three
Laura gets out of the shower and changes into some casual clothes since she was just going to end up changing later.
Her phone vibrates on the dresser. She walks over to it and flips her phone open.
Her agent sent her a message: Good morning, Laura. I will give you daily updates in the morning about the events of each day. Today, you and Ross will be doing a live stream just like you did in Australia. Your escort will be waiting outside at 8:00 AM.
Laura looks at the clock. It was 6:58 AM.
Laura sends Ross a text: heyyy, are you up!?
Ross doesn't text back in a while so Laura decides to swing by his room.
Laura grabs her keycard and Ross's keycard before she leaves her room.
She knocks on Ross's door a couple times. "Ross," she says, softly.
After no answer, she calls him.
It goes straight to voicemail.
"Okay..." Laura says, pulling out his card and inserting it in the door.
His door opens and Laura wasn't surprised to see him fast asleep in his bed.
Laura walks over to his bed side and picks up his phone on his dresser.
She hesitates. Was it wrong to look at his notifications?
She turns on his phone, anyways and looks at his lock screen.
-2 missed calls from 'Mom'
-1 missed call from 'Lauraaaa'
-Lauraaaa: heyyy, are you up!?
-Agent:Good morning, Ross. I will give you daily updates in the morning about the events of each day. Today, you and Laura will be doing a live stream just like you did in Australia. Your escort will be waiting outside at 8:00 AM.
Laura puts his phone down and sighs. "Ross." She says.
He doesn't move or react.
Laura repeats his name about a million times.
'He might be faking again.' Laura thinks.
She thinks of a brilliant idea as she walk over to his bathroom and gets a cup.
Laura turns on the sink faucet, filling the cup with freezing water and heads back to Ross with the cup.
She smiles as she pours the cold water on his face.
He jolts up in surprise and irritation, wiping his eyes and water off of his face. "Wow, really?" He asks, tiredly.
Laura laughs as Ross sends a pillow flying in her direction. She catches it and tosses it back on the bed. "I know you were faking."
"No, I wasn't." Ross replies, running a hand through his wet hair.
"You're lying." Laura tells him, setting the cup down on his dresser.
"No, i was asleep." Ross says, getting out of bed.
"I called your name like a billion times." Laura tells him, heading to the door.
"I didn't hear it." Ross says.
"Sure you didn't." Laura rolls her eyes, opening the door.
"Laura, wait!" Ross calls from the bathroom.
Laura closes the door and steps back into the room. "Yeah?"
"My mom isn't here. So, i need you to do my hair." He tells her.
"I think it's kinda sad you can't do your own hair." Laura tells him. "But, i'll do it for you."
"Thanks, wife. I don't know when you became so nice."
Laura laughs. "Shut up before i divorce you."
Ross laughs as he closes the door, changing his clothes.
Laura sits down on his bed, automatically noticing Ross's sweet aroma that was diffused throughout the room.
Laura looks around his room. His clothes were all over the place already. He hasn't been here for one day yet and his room is already looking like a pigsty.
Ross comes out and smiles at her, sitting on the bed, facing away from her.
Laura can't help but to smile back at him. She gets off the bed and stands up in front of him. "Do you have a brush or a comb?" She asks him.
"You're the girl. Shouldn't you have the hair stuff?" Ross asks her.
Laura rolls her eyes. "Don't you at least have a comb?"
"My mom has it." He says.
"You are such a kid." Laura rolls her eyes and heads back to the door. "Let me get my brush."
"Hurry up. You know we are late." Ross tells her.
Laura looks at him blankly for a moment. "This is your fault. Don't tell me to hurry up."
Ross rolls his eyes. "I was joking." He sighs, and Laura leaves the room.
Strangely, she comes back a few seconds later.
"That was unexpectedly fast." Ross says.
"Well, my room is kind of close." Laura replies to him as she closes the door behind her.
Ross narrows his eyes at her. "Wait. Did you just let yourself in?"
Laura shrugs and walks over to him. "Yeah... Why?"
"Laura, i gave you the card for emergencies. Not so you can have some open access to everything in my room."
"I had to wake you up, right? And i have to do your hair since you can't do it." Laura says, a little irritated at him. "And what do you mean, 'open access to everything in your room'?"
Ross looks at her, questioningly. "Why were you trying to look through my phone?"
Laura bites her lip, nervously. "Oh... That... I guess you were awake."
"Yeah, that." Ross repeats. He was a little annoyed that Laura looked at his phone like she had a right to do that. "Why were you looking through my phone?"
Laura looks away from him as her cheeks become red of embarrassment. She messes with her hair, nervously and Ross found it cute but he tried not to admit that to his self. "Uh, sorry. I was just checking if you got my text."
"Okay, that's fine today. But, don't do it again." Ross tells her, not meaning for his voice to sound that harsh.
Laura continues not to look at him, as she feels miserably guilty. "Yeah, I understand. I know i shouldn't have. I mean, that was really stupid. How could I think i could just do that? I know were friends and all but i can't just do that. I'm really sorry. You know, i'd feel the same w--." She babbles until Ross cuts her off by taking her wrist.
He smiles at her as she immediately looks him in his eyes. "Laura, stop talking. It's fine, really. I'm just really sensitive about the stuff on my phone. I'd hate for someone to see it."
Laura doesn't do anything but take her wrist out of his gentle grip and nod. She becomes awfully curious to see unlock his phone, now.
Ross looks at her, searchingly. 'Why do these awkward moments keep happening?' He thinks. 'Is it my fault?'
Laura gently runs her hand through his semi wet hair, admiring how soft it was.
Sure, from time to time, Calum would ask her to fix his hair when he wasn't sure and his hair was soft.
But, Ross's hair was like one of those fictional, big, soft, puffy clouds from the books. Like, it was that soft.
Ross looks up at her, realizing she paused and was just staring down at his hair. "You okay?" He asks her.
Laura snaps back to reality and looks at him, receding her hands from his hair. "Oh, yeah. I just haven't done your hair before."
Ross looks at her. "If you don't want to do it, that's okay."
"No, no, no!" Laura exclaims. "I'll do it. Your hair is just really soft."
Ross gives her a weird look as she continues to run her hands through his hair.
She does Ross's hairstyle that she knows too well and starts to spray it down with some hairspray.
Ross freaks out. "What are you doing!?" He exclaims, jumping up.
Laura looks at him, weirdly. "It's hairspray."
Ross sighs. "Oh. I thought you were trying to spray me with your girly perfume."
Laura rolls her eyes. "Why would i do that?"
"I don't know!" Ross says.
Laura rolls her eyes and heads back to the door. "I'll see you down at breakfast."
"Why aren't we walking together?" He questions.
Laura turns around to face him. "I thought you had to get a few stuff. I'm stopping at my room to put my stuff back."
"So, i'll come with you." Ross tells her as he follows her out of the room.
"I have no problem with that." Laura says.
After Laura drops the stuff off in her room, Ross and her walk down to breakfast side by side together.
They arrive to the lobby and head towards the breakfast room to get some free hotel-served food.
Ross and Laura get their food from the buffet area and walk over to a table.
As soon as they sit down, Anthony unexpectedly shows up. "Hello, Laura. I remember saying that i would see you here."
Laura politely smiles at him as Ross rolls his eyes and silently groans in his chair.
Anthony narrows his eyes at Ross, looking at him up and down, as if he wasn't worth anything. Laura takes this into consideration.
"What?" Ross says, annoyed Anthony kept showing up and talking to Laura.
He wasn't really jealous...
Anthony turns to Ross completely. "Ross, is it? I've heard you are quite a handful."
Ross sneers at him. "Oh, so you heard. Can i ask where you heard that from? Or did you just make that up because you're... You."
Laura gives him a look but Ross doesn't look at her. His eyes were locked on Anthony. Dead on.
Anthony laughs, mockingly. "A sense of humor! That is wonderfully marvelous." He says, sarcastically. "Your look is humorous too."
Ross stands up and Laura does too, sensing a fight. 'Why are they fighting? They don't even know each other!' Laura thinks.
Ross glares at Anthony like an eagle. "Watch it. I don't know you but i know that i can kick your--."
"Ross!" Laura says, quickly. She pushes him back in his seat, his eyes still locked on Anthony's. "This is so stupid. Why are you guys even fighting?"
"Because of him." They say at the same time. Ross and Anthony glare at each other.
Laura sighs, rubbing her temples. "Okay, me and Ross are late for something were doing and we really don't need a fight so Anthony, what were you going to say to me?"
Anthony thinks for a while and Ross rolls his eyes. "I was going to ask you if you'd like to go out later."
Laura eyes light up as Ross's widen. "Like a date?" She smiles.
Ross gets up. "Whoa, whoa, whoa." He says, putting his hand on Laura's shoulder. He turns to Anthony. "We're really sorry but me and her are working all day. She doesn't have any time for you."
Laura looks back to Ross. "Aren't we doing just a live stream today? Besides a photoshoot. I bet i could squeeze in some time to hang out with him."
"But, what about me?" Ross asks her.
"Oh, terribly sorry, but, she won't have any time for you." Anthony mocks.
Ross clenches his fist but then contains his self. "Laura, tell him you don't have anytime for him. We're working."
Laura looks to Anthony. "After work i'll text you and we'll hang out later."
Ross's eyes widen and Anthony smiles mischievously. "Okay, then. See you later." He says and walks away.
"Laura!" Ross exclaims, suddenly. "You can't do that! What about me? What about these couple of weeks being about us?"
"Ross, you said that. But, I'm not ditching you. You could come if you want." Laura says.
Ross gets frustrated. "Laura, its a date and i don't like him."
"Just chill. What does it matter to you anyway?" Laura asks him, sitting down in her chair.
"You don't have any time for a relationship." Ross retorts.
Laura rolls her eyes. "You're just jealous."
"No, I'm not." He tells her as he sits down in his seat. "You just want all the guys to fall over you." He rolls his eyes.
Laura looks at him in disgust. "As if! What is your problem? Stop acting like a jerk because all the attention isn't on you."
Ross looks at her, annoyed at her response. "I'm not a jerk looking for attention, so be quiet." He argues and looks away.
Laura rolls her eyes.
They were quiet for the rest of the morning, barely making eye contact with each other.
Good friends, huh?

There's a whole journey ahead of them.
