"Kayla! Are you getting ready for school you're gonna be late!" I heard my moms voice echo through the house. "Yea mom I've been up for 2 hours now no need to keep checking on me"

It was my first day of school and to say I was nervous would be an understatement, any other girl wouldn't be this nervous I thought to myself. But other girls didn't have to deal with this kind of secret

I'm Kayla I have long brown hair but I like to dye the tips different colors, I'm 5"2 and hazel eyes.

I come from a long line of witches but my mom married a vampire and had me and my 15 year old sister Amber. So we're have witch half vampire.

I was wearing light ripped jeans and a white t-shirt I curled my hair brushing it out making beach waves. As I as putting on my eyeliner I heard a loud crash coming from down stairs.

I ran down stars. "What hell happened in here?!" I said my sister was standing in front of a broken vase. "Were you practicing your magic again" she looked at me. Amber was 5"4 she had brown hair and hazel eyes and a cute round face.

"Got damnit Amber we told you weren't ready yet why can't you listen!" She never listen she was always trying new things and she hadn't even learned the basics

"Would you stop trying to be mom you're not the boss of me!" She snapped back, I admit I'm tough on her but that's what she needs to become a good vampire witch.

"Maybe I wouldn't have to act like mom if you stopped being a fucking 5 year old!" I was steaming i looked over at the book case across the room.

Picking my finger up and bring the book towards me, lifting it to a throwing potion.

"Girls stop arguing you'll be late. Kayla do you want breakfast?" My mom asked, my mom was beautiful she was about 5"5 with beautiful brown hair with blue eyes.

"No I'm fine I'm not hungry" I said picking up the keys and going for the door motioning for Amber to come.

"Bye have a good day! Love you!" She yelled. "Love you too" we both said. The drive to school was 5 minutes, so I decided to play some music.

"I can tell you're nervous" Amber blurted out, was it that obvious? "I heard mom talking to dad over the phone about how scared she was for you, you know after what's happened at our old sc-

"We're here" I interrupted her it was true i was terrified but I couldn't let my little sister see that.

The high school was huge, I felt like it got bigger since open house. I walked into the office and they handed Amber and I our schedules.

My homebase was 803 which was in the second floor, i wander who's going to be in my classes I had signed for a lot of music classes and I was very excited

As I was look at my schedule I felt a had shoulder push against mine and I threw me back a little, I looked up, " I'm so sorry I didn't see you" I apologized. She was very tall but that could have been because of her heels and she had long blonde hair and blue yes and so did her friends behind her. " watch were you're going freak"

My fave became bright red a she Sheepishly walked away.

I enter my home room the desk were set in rows and I found my way to the back not bothering to look up.

But Then I felt a tap on my shoulder and instally my head went up. It was girl with glasses and her hair was red. She had so many freckles.

"Hey my name is Hannah, you must be the new girl." She said extending her hand. I shock it. " my name is Kayla"

"You wouldn't mind if I say by you and gave you all the dish right?" I shake my head it would be nice to know who's in my class.

She pointed to the front of the room "right there you have your nerds, she pointed to the middle of the room "right there you have your middle class friends basically there's a lot of cliques here"

Something told me to me to look at the door and there they were the same girls I bumped into the same girls that called me a freak

"Who are they" I asked I already knew who they were but I didn't know their names. "That my friend is Stephanie and her worker bees Chloe"

"Both of their names are Chloe?" "Yeah probably easier to remember Stephanie isn't the smartest" we laughed together. And then she stopped there was a silence that went through the room.

And in walked a boy he was tall maybe about 6"3 and he had brown hair that swooped over his eye and these eyes that I could stare at for hours.

"Who's that" I said with eyes still locked on the mystery boy. " don't talk to him Kayla he's weird" she cautioned. "I like weird" I continued to stare.

"Hey look the new freak is staring at the old freak maybe you guys can have freak baby's" she laughed.

1st period

My first period was math which flew by pretty fast I was good at math and kind of liked it. Next was, science we had a lab it wasn't until everyone was in their seats and the teacher was about to call the partners that in walked the mystery boy and the room went silent again.

The teacher had called all of us and the only two people left were me and the boy. I heard a few snickers but I didn't look up.

" Toby M and Kayla R you guys will be a lab station 4 in the back of the room He pointed.

We made are way to the back of the room and I say down and Toby sat beside me. "Hi I'm Kayla I'm kinda new here" "I'm Toby " we started working in the assiment we had finished fist turns out were both really good at science.

"You're really good at science I said. "Maybe you could help me study." I said

"I don't kn- I placed my hand of his making him stop. "Please let's meet at the Wendy's down the street" "okay" his hand was cold and his eyes were kind of like mine and he had this ring on his finger that only someone who's had a family member who belonged to a coven before would have....
