"Good morning Kayla" my mom said trying to be cheerful. I looked at her and gave her a small smile taking my bowl of cereal upstairs.

"Kayla wait" my dad said as I was heading up the stairs. I rolled my eyes turning around. "What" I said trying not to have an attitude but failed.

" you know Amber didn't mean to say that she was just frustra-"

"Please don't make excuses for her she's 15 years old she can talk to me like a normal person" I said I stormed up stairs stopping at the top.

"Oh and Amber" her head came up looking at me with enraged eyes.

"Find a new way to school" then I made my way up stairs.

I slammed my door sitting on my bed eating my breakfast and watching tv as I got a text On my phone from Toby.

Toby: hey had a good time last night :)

Me: I had a great time to! kinda need to get away from the house.

Toby: wanna talk about it?

Me:I'll tell you later see you at school :)

Toby: see you :)

It was simple conversations like this that made my day I knew people that Toby was weird but I liked him he was sweet and cute. I couldn't wait to see him.

I went down stairs grabbed my keys and headed out the door.

"Kayla take your sister to school" my dad called after me.

"I'm pretty sure she can get a ride from the friends that aren't ruining her time a high school" I said getting in my car and starting it up.

I drive into the school parking lot getting out of my car and walking into the building. Everyone was staring at me.

Every single pair of eyes were on me. But why.

First period I walked into class and sat in my usual seat but no one sat around me.

"Kayla Martin please report to the principles office." The speakers boomed though the classroom. I got up walking into the office into the principals office.

"Do you know why you're here Kayla?" He said taking a deep breath.

"No" I said in a questioning tone.

"Well a picture has been spreading around the school of you in a car with Toby. And I just wanted to know.... Did Toby hurt you?"

"What!! No oh my gosh Toby would never hurt me! We were just hanging out" I said crossing my arms.

"Listen stay away from the Toby kid he's bad news" he said leaning over his desk.

"Look you can't tell me who I can and can't hangout with so if you excuse me I'm going to science."

I got up and stormed out of the door. I walked into class and everyone's eyes we on me as I walked to my lab were Toby was.

"Doesn't surprise me that the weird girl is hanging out with the freak it's a match made in heaven" said Hannah.

I kept walking. I didn't want to get heated I was already having a bad day. "Hey" Toby said to me this time he was actually looking at me. "Hey" I said flashing a smile.

Everyone else was still working on their projects so we just talked.

"So what's been going on with your family" Toby asked.

"My sister and I got into a huge fight and she said some hurtful stuff to me my parents are just making it seem like it's not that big of a deal."

"Was the fight about me." He sad nervously moving some papers to avoid eye contact.

"It's just that she let people fill her head with lies about you." I said looking at him.

"We'll maybe that means I shouldn't be in your life all I want is for you to be happy and if I'm ruining your you family-"

I cut him off. "hold up your not ruining anything I don't care what anyone says about you." I put my hand on his shoulder trying to comfort.

The bell rang and we packed up our stuff and heading for the door.

"You wanna hang out at my place instead after school?" He asked throwing his book bag over his shoulder.

"Yeah sure!"I said kind of to excited.

As the last bell rang I walked out out of the school building hopping in my car Toby sent me the address to his place. But before I could drive away, Amber was walking towards the car.

"What are you doing?" Asked as she tried getting in the car.

"My friend can't drive me home and I don't feel like walking."

" I don't care you have to walk in going to Toby's so I don't care what you do"

And I drove off.

Sorry for it taking so long to update I've been really busy with band practice like I'm literally writing this while going over music.
