Chapter One- Eighteen Isn't My Lucky Number
"Look, Oliver, all I'm saying is that if Wolverine and Captain America got into a fight, obviously, Wolverine would win. The dude has claws. Claws, Oliver." Anastasia Starr exclaimed to her best friend Oliver Van Dyck who currently looked very offended by what Anastasia had just said to him.
"Okay, can you just. No. You are very, very wrong. Wrong on so many levels. Captain America would obviously win easily over Wolverine. One, because Captain America was made on the soul purpose of being the perfect solider. And two, he has a shield that deflects anything. So, if Wolverine were to go up against Captain America, Captain America would 100% win." Oliver explained, more like argued, his opinion to Anastasia while the two walked down the busy cold streets of London.
Anastasia rolled her eyes at her best friend then stuffed her freezing hands into her warm jacket pockets. Anastasia very much loved London, but she had to admit, she was daydreaming of being on a warm beach somewhere else. You would think after living here her whole life she would get used to this cold, but sadly, she was never going to get used to it.
"Okay. Whatever you say, Ollie. Can we just get out of this cold before my hands freeze off and become one of your weird SCFI creatures?" Anastasia asked Oliver who nodded his head feeling quite cold himself. "SCFI isn't weird, it's cool. And yes, let's go into Belle Âme. I'm craving one of their pastries and warm coffees." Oliver said agreeing with Anastasia that it would be best for them to get out of this London cold. The two friends raced to the coffee shop Belle Âme, finally, getting out of the cold.
"Get anything you want. I'm paying, since it's your birthday." Oliver said to Anastasia the amazing smell of coffee and sweet pastries hitting their noses upon entering the busy cafe. "Alright. I want one of everything." Anastasia replied sitting down at a rustic looking table while Oliver raised his eyebrows. "Very funny. Seriously though, what do you want?" Oliver asked again Anastasia looking very serious at him. "I mean, if that's what you want. I guess we could get one of everything." Oliver said quickly taking out his wallet trying to count how much money he had to pay for all this food while Anastasia smiled. "Oliver. I'm just joking. Calm down." Anastasia said through laughs while putting a hand on Oliver's shoulder who just glared at the girl.
Anastasia watched Oliver make his way to the counter then sighed. Oliver is such a sweet boy she thought while Oliver let a little girl go in front of him. It's to bad his girlfriend is a bitch she thought to herself while looking out the cafe's huge windows.
Anastasia loved London. Covered in beautiful white snow in the cold winters made London look like it was it's own little magical world. It wasn't only the looks that made Anastasia love London, it was the people. Their atmosphere just screamed young and fun. The people here were always so amazing in their own unique ways. Anastasia looked around the hipster like cafe then smiled. But the best part about London was this little hideaway cafe called Belle Âme. Oliver and her had found this place just about a year ago and absolutely fell in love. The coffee was spectacular and the place was filled with random things that made you feel at home. Since then, Oliver and Anastasia have been coming to this place every Friday marking it as their secret hang out.
"What do you think about Katy's party? Should we go, or not? Oh, or maybe we could go to Outcast! I heard their club atmosphere is amazing." Oliver asked Anastasia who was currently sipping on her Iced Carmel Macchiato. "Katy is your girlfriend, Oliver. I think it would only be best if we go. But, Outcast sounds really fun as well. So, I don't really know." Anastasia replied looking at Oliver who looked very torn between the two. "Outcast sounds more fun then Katy's party. But, I think I am going to Katy's party. I don't want her to think I'm not a good boyfriend." Oliver said exasperated running a hand through his dyed electric blue hair while Anastasia smiled at her best friend.
