I was becoming anxious
Impatient and more impatient
The doctors had taken my wife sanaa for an operation
It was our first baby and she had to have a caeserean done to deliver the baby

The hours were ticking away as i waited for our bundle of joy to arrive in this world
After hours and hours of waiting she arrived
Our daughter,Aarzoo

I held her for the first time in my arms as tiny as she was
I was proud of being a dad to such a beautiful baby girl who looked exactly like her mum
I kissed her on the forehead
Sanaa looked at me still in an unconcious hazy state and managed to smile at us

I kissed Sanaa on the forehead
"Thank you meri jaan for giving me a gift just as wonderful as you"

The doctor came inside and asked for me to visit her cabin
I followed her where she broke me that disastrous piece of news that i was never ready to believe

"Mr Hussain Asif mujhe aapko yeh bataate huwe bohot afsos ho raha hai but i dont think Sanaa will leave this hospital alive...actually Sanaa has cervical cancer!!!"

I looked at the doctor not being able to believe what she was saying
No...
San...Sanaa cannot leave me
This doctor must be mistaken

I looked at the doctor and she continued...

"We discovered about her disease a few months back and since it was in the last stage we suggested her to abort the child so that she could have a bone marrow transplant done but she refused
She wanted to have this child because this child is your dream."
I rushed back to the room and looked at Sanaa who was almost lifeless
Tears welled up in my eyes as the doctor's words repeated itself in my brain again

But...but...
Why was Sanaa not breathing at all????
Fear engulfed me and it all seemed a moment away
Death had come to separate my Sanaa away from me..

I shouted for the doctors who rushed in and immediately sent me out
I wanted to stay with Sanaa but they did not allow me to do so

I looked from outside and saw the doctors doing all kinds of treatment to start her breathing but it seemed like Sanaa's body did not want to respond at all

The doctor suddenly took the white sheet and covered Sanaa's face
She was gone!!!
Within the blink of an eye,she was gone!!!!!
The doctors came out and said a soft sorry

I entered the ward and all the memories spent with Sanaa came rushing back to my mind
But sanaa was gone...never to come back again
She left me alone in this world with Aarzoo

I hugged her lifeless body and started weeping like a kid
Expecting her to wake up from a deep sleep and hug me back
Expecting her to ruffle my hair like she always did to annoy me
But that woudnt happen anymore....

She was gone!!!!!!!
Sanaaa!!!!!!!!!!

Death does not choose a specific person but comes abruptly and takes away the person we love the most
