Dipper's (POV)

When I got home, Mabel picked me up and swang me around. I knew why too, she must still think it was a date.
When she finally put me down, she had a big grin on her face.

"Soooo, how did it go?"

"Pretty good."

"Did you two do little smoothing?"

"Eww, why would we?"

"Because you love her!"

"Pfft, yeah right."

"Oh yes you do! You wove her!"

"I don't love her!"

"No, it's wove!"

"Whatever, same difference!"

"Admit it, you're in love!"

"Okay fine!"

"I do like Wendy, a lot, but so what?"

"Uhh, so everything!"

"Oh what ever."

I walked up to the attic and decided to read a little bit. Awhile I was reading I still couldn't stop thinking about how I almost kissed Wendy. If her brother didn't walk in on us, today would if been my first kiss with my first crush. There were so many things I love about her, but I can't say them all in one day. I can't even say it in words. But maybe I can in a song? That's it! I can write her a song, I just hope it won't turn out to be total crap. That night I stayed up for hours trying to come up with lyrics of the song for Wendy. When it was finally done, I went to sleep, I slept like a log that night.

That morning, I went to see Wendy, and ask her to go on a walk with me. That way I could tell her the song. When I got down stairs, Wendy was there reading a book in the living room. I tapped her shoulder to get her attention.

"Stan, if it's you again, I already told you I'm on brake."

"No Wendy, it's me."

She turned around to see me there. She smiled warmly at me. I love her smile, it makes me think everything is okay. I smiled back before she spoke up again.

"Oh, hey Dipper, what's up?"

"Oh nothing."

"Same."

"Great, I mean uhhh, that sucks but maybe we could go for a walk?"

"Sure, I would like that."

"Great, let's go."

We started out the door of the shack. I left a note for Mabel and Stan in case they start looking for me. As we walked, I was nervous the whole time. I wanted to sing her the song I wrote for her, but I was so scared. But I tried to remain calm and focus on her smile. Every time she smiled at me, it would calm me down. Good thing she was smiling the whole time. When we finally got to a nice spot in a meadow, we sat down and talked.

"Hey Wendy, there is something I have for you."

"Hold that thought."

"Huh?"

"First, I wanted to say sorry about my brother coming in on us."

"It's okay Wendy, I'm over it."

"Good, but since we never did kiss, I guess this will do for now."

"Huh?"

With that she kissed my cheek! I felt amazing having her lips on my face, I didn't want it to end, but of course it had to. I thought to myself, if her kissing my cheek is great, image her kissing your lips. I blushed like crazy, as she smiled at me.

"Now, what was it that you were saying?"

"Wha? Oh, right!"

"I kinda, sorta, maybe, wrote a little song for you."

"You did?"

"Yeah..."

"I would love to hear it."

"Okay..."

"What's the song called?"

"Oh, um it's called this I promise you."

"Okay."

I gulped as I tried to find my voice. Once I did she smiled at me and I started to sing the song.

"I promise that you'll never be alone."

"This house will always be your home."

"And our hearts will always beat as one as long as I can breathe I swear."

"I promise that I'll never let you down. Be strong for you, I'll always be around."

"Look into my eyes, you'll see, that we ment to be together oh."

"This love of ours, was sent from up above."

"Together I know that we can touch the sky."

"Nothing ever felt so right."

"So girl I...."

"This I promise you."

"This I promise you."

"This I promise you."

"Girl, I'll be there."

"I will be there."

"This I promise you."

"This I promise you."

"This I promise you."

"Girl, I'll be there."

"I will be there."

"I promise all my life."

When I was done singing Wendy looked at me blushing like crazy, and had tears in her eyes. I think I messed up.

"I'm sorry, did I say something?"

"What, no."

"But, you're crying?"

"Yeah, because I'll really touched."

"Really?"

"Yes, no ever wrote me something so beautiful."

"Makes sense to me to write a beautiful song for a beautiful girl."

"Oh stop."

We laughed before she pulled me in for a hug. I hugged back, and never wanted to let go. We hugged for a good 20 minutes, crazy right?
But it was the best 20 minutes of my life. Just having her in my arms, it felt amazing. When we finally separated, Wendy looked at her phone, and saw it was getting late. We got up for the nice grass, and started to walk home. On the walk home, I did something dumb. I grabbed and held her hand. She blushed, but she held my hand back. We finally got to her house to see her dad on the deck. He saw us holding hands and wasn't too happy about it. Wendy quickly let my hand go. I missed that feeling of her hand there, but I knew it was for the greater good. He took Wendy inside before turning back to me.

"Listen here boy, I don't want you flirting with my little girl!"

"We're just friends!"

"Then why were you holding hands?!"

"Oh, that's because, I uhhh..."

"You better watch your back boy!"

He walked into the house, and I started to walk home too. I still couldn't believe Wendy kissed my cheek, held my hand, and hugged me in one day! Best day ever. It would of be the most awesome day ever if we kissed, but a peck is good enough for now.

Author's note:

I DON'T own the song in this chapter. If you want to know what it is, it's called 'this I promise you by Frankie J.'
