Chapter seven: "Not on my watch."

Wendy's (POV)

He wrote you a song! He held your hand! You kissed his cheek! No doubt about it, I think I'm in love. But how can I tell him? I didn't actually confess when we had movie night. But I know he likes me back, which is a good thing, but not actually saying the words I love you is a bad thing. And how will my friends react to me dating a 12 year old? Either way, I need to tell him. When I woke up dis morning I went down stairs to eat breakfast and saw my brothers made a huge mess in the kitchen again. After the mess was finally cleaned I ate breakfast and went to work. I got on my red bike, and took the short cut again. Not because I was late, but because I wanted to see Dipper.

When I got there, I was trampled by Mabel. She was hugging me, and speaking so fast I couldn't understand her.

"Ohmygoshicantbelieveyoutwoaredating!!!!!"

"Woah, slow down there Mabel!"

"I said, oh my gosh I can't believe you two are dating!!"

"Woah, we are not dating!"

"Dipper told me every thing, of course you are dating silly!!"

"He told you?"

"Sure did!"

"Oh brother."

I felt my cheek get hot, when she said Dipper told her every thing. She only laughed when she saw me blush, which only made me blush deeper. When Dipper came in the room, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. He smiled at me and I smiled back.
Mabel then walked out of the room, leaving me and Dipper alone.

"Hey Wendy, you want to go for a walk?"

"Sure."

We went out the door of the gift shop and into the woods. We walked in silence for awhile. It was a good silence, it helped me gather my thoughts of how to tell him how I feel. When we finally got to the meadow, I layed on the nice warm grass, and he layed next to me. We watched the clouds go by in the sky, just enjoying each other's company. I then felt something in my hand, I looked over to see Dipper's hand on mine. I blushed as he in twanged his fingers between mine. He looked at me blushing like crazy and I was doing the same. We turned our attention back to the sky for a good, long hour. When it was finally time to go, Dipper saw it was quitting time. Even though we weren't at work the whole day, it was still that time to head home. Dipper and I got up, and he started to walk me home. We held hands the whole time.

When we finally got to my house, my dad saw us holding hands and wasn't too happy about it. I quickly realized it, and let his hand go. My dad then walked up to us and gave me a dis- approval glare. I knew what that ment.

"Listen here boy, I don't want you near my daughter if all you're gonna do is flirt!"

"What, dad!"

"No, I don't want him near you!"

"Dad please, its not like that!"

"I don't want you to be hurt, like you were when you dated those other boys!"

"Mr. Corduroy, if you just let me explain."

"No, you're not welcome near my daughter, so stay away from her!!"

I felt my heart brake when my dad said those things. He then dragged me into the house, and looked at me in the eyes.

"And Wendy, I don't want you near him either!"

"Dad, please!"

"No, now go to your room!"

I did what I was told, and went to my room. I didn't know what to do. I love Dipper, but my dad won't let me be near him. That night I couldn't help but cry, at the thought of never getting to see Dipper again.
