Jemma's POV
I can't wait to go to Dan's house after school. I have been waiting all day.
*Timeskip To After School*
I text my mum can I go over Dan's house after school? She replies, sorry I'm very busy. I text back, maybe Dan's mum can pick me up and take us to his house. Buzz. She replies. Fine by me, see u later sweetie. I see Dan outside waiting for his mum to pick him up. "Hey, can your mum bring me to your house?" I ask. He pulls out his phone to text her. "Yep, that's fine," he replies. I smile and kiss him on the cheek. He smiles back. Ina, Anton, and Zeke walk over to us. "Aww, that was sweet," they say in unison. "Sorry, Dan, I can't make it," Zeke says to Dan. "That's fine," he replies. "Maybe some other time. Dan's mum's car pulls up. "Bye," I call to my friends. "Bye," Dan calls, "see you later." Me and Dan get into the back of the car. "Dan, Jemma, guess what!" Dan's brother yells. "What?" We say in unison. "There's a brand new video game out, it's called minecraft," he says. "What's it about?" Dan asks. "Basically, you just get to build whatever you want," Dan's brother explains. "Cool," I say, "I can't wait to play it." I am so excited.
Dan's POV
My brother just told me and Jemma about this cool new video game called minecraft. It sounds epic! I can't wait to play it.
*Timeskip To Dan's House*
We walk into my house and Jemma looks around. "Where's your dad?" She asks me. "My mum and him got divorced," I say, "which is why we moved." "Oh," she says, "I feel so bad for you." We walk upstairs, and my brother shows us the game. He says that it is for a computer only, and Jemma realizes that she left her laptop at home. I quickly text the group and tell them to bring theirs. "Should I go home and get it?" Jemma asks me. "You probably should," I say, "but I'm sure we can find some other way for you to play." "No, that's fine, I'll text my mum and ask if she can bring it over." She replies, and pulls out her phone. "She said she can," Jemma tells me.
Jemma's Dad's POV
"Where's Jemma?" I ask my wife. "Oh, she went to a friend's house," she replies. "Ok, I heard that her and Nate broke up," I say. "Yeah," she replies, "she is dating her friend Dan. He seems nice." "He's a gamer, isn't he," I say. "What?" My wife replies. "I asked if he was a gamer," I grumble. "Yeah, why? She asks. "Because this 'Dan' guy probably isn't popular," I say. "He's new," my wife explains. "I don't care," I grit, "he isn't popular. She needs to date a popular guy. She's so pretty that all the popular guys drool over her. There's plenty of guys for her to choose from." "Let her be with whoever..." She starts to say but I cut her off. "Where does Dan live!" I shout. "I'm going to pick her up. She can't see him anymore." I storm outside and start up the car.
Jemma's POV
I'm surprised that no one else is here yet. Dan's mum yells up from downstairs. "Dan, Jemma, your friends are here!" she shouts, and we run downstairs. Dan opens the door. "Hey guys..." He starts to say, and I look out the window. It's my dad. "Your coming with me Jemma!" He yells, and grabs my arm. "You think that you can just dump Nate and date this loser!" He screams. I look over at Dan. I can't believe that my dad just called him a loser. I am so mad. "You two are never seeing each other again!' He shouts, and starts to drag me out the door. I grab Dan's hand. "I'm not leaving," I say, "we are never breaking up. He's the only guy that I ever dated who actually makes me feel happy!" I scream. I wrench free of my dad's grip and hide behind Dan. I am scared. He takes my hand. "It's ok Jem," he says, "I will protect you." I smile. "What did you just say!?" My dad screams, "you loved Nate and you know it!" I gripped Dan's hand harder. I was trying so hard to hold back the tears. "Look, she's never been happy with a guy until she met me," Dan says. He is actually sticking up for me. I smile. "Fine, but your never coming home, EVER!" My dad yells, and I start crying. I can feel the tears rolling down my cheeks. Dan hugs me close to him. "It's ok, Jem, you can stay with me," he tells me. I look up at him, into his eyes, and kiss him. This is the happiest that I've been in months. He holds onto my hand and we walk upstairs to his room.
