Christian's P.O.V

Jill stepped out from behind me, casting glances all around. She looked like she wanted to say something but was too nervous. The Moroi unconciously divided up into two groups, royals and non-royals. All the non-royals were outraged; the royals couldn't be happier. Lissa straightened up and replaced her horrified expression with one of determination. I went to grab her arm but she was already stepping forward. I followed her, knowing if she were to say something about this topic, it could get ugly. Adrian followed us, holding tightly onto Jill's wrist. He's like an overprotective brother.

Lissa turned around, saw we were follwing her, and picked up her pace. Damn it, Lissa. What are you doing?

"This is fucking insane!" I heard a familiar voice yell. Rose has arrived. All Moroi went silent. Rose was the only dhampir to voice her thoughts on this so far. And Queen Tatiana wasn't happy about it. At all. A few guardians stepped forward to creat a barrier between her and the Queen. "You're going to murder innocent children!"

Queen Tatiana was surprisingly calm. "I can assure you, Ms. Hathaway, that is not the case. I have interviewed several guardians, and they agreed, with good training, novices could be ready. And I believe you were seventeen when you killed your first Strigoi."

Rose let out a low growling sound. "That's different."

The Queen smirked. "I hate to break it to you, Rosemarie, but you are not special. You are not a special case. Unless there is something you want to share." That bitch. We can't argue on Rose's behalf without exposing Lissa.

Of course, Rose was prepared for this. "Actually, there is something I want to share. I trained harder than all my other classmates. I train three times a day everyday. Even on weekends. And I have a very skilled instructor."

The Queen's smile dried up. "Then the others will train three times a day with guardians I approve of. And they will be training as soon as possible."

"You know this is wrong, you--!" Guardian Belikov went to pull Rose away, but Lissa was closer to Rose than he was.

Lissa rushed over to Rose and pushed her behind her. "I think we should talk about this privately, Your Majesty."

Queen Tatiana gave Lissa a fake smile. "Tomorrow, perhaps. This meeting is done. Everyone please return to you regular activities."

The groups dispersed and started filing out of the doors. Rose turned Lissa around to face her. "Why did you do that, Liss?"

She smiled, amusement in her green eyes. "It was my turn to save your ass."

Rose P.O.V

Jill and Adrian sat across from me, both giving me unbelieving looks. What is up with them? Lissa was pacing around the room, Christian following her while trying to calm her down. She turned around abruptly, alomst smacking into Christian. She held up her hands, curving her fingers inward, as if she were imagining choking Christian. Dimitri stood against the wall, invisible as usual. Well, invisible to everyone except me. If he were invisible to me, our situation would be a hell of a lot easier.

Mia walked into the room with a glass of water in her hand. Lissa paused and took it, thanking her. Mia came to sit next to me on the bed, offering me a small smile. We were all huddled in her room, which was barely big enough to fit us all in here.

There was a knock at the door. I automatically stood up and grabbed my stake from the nightstand. "Be right back," I told them as I made my way out of the bedroom, into the living room, and to the front door. I opened it, greeted by a scarred face, black hair, and icy blue eyes. Tasha Ozera. I could feel the glass in my hand again, and I hung on to that distraction. "Tasha, hi."
