The walk to the chapel was filled with an awkward silence. Lissa stood by my side, but I could tell she was still kind of pissed even without the bond. It was like it radiated off of her. When we reached the chapel, the doors were propped open, and students filled the pews. Everyone's heads were hung down, and mine did too when I sat down. It was like the death was weighing me down. I couldn't help it. Lissa's mood changed drastically, and she took my hand in hers, seeking comfort. I looked over at her tear streaked face, and squeezed her hand. I looked up for a second and noticed that Christian was sitting by Lissa, and Adrian was on the other side of me. That was when I noticed Adrian was staring at me. Admiring me. I, unintentionally, got closer to Lissa.

"Rose, are you okay?" She whispered.

"Yeah. I'm fine."

The service began, and Adrian shifted beside me. I turned towards him, only to discover that he had traded spots with Dimitri. I smiled, and felt Lissa's emotions spike through the bond. Only, it wasn't anger... It was compassion. Or something like that. She was happy that I could have someone in my life that I love besides her.

"Why is she staring at me like that?" Dimitri whispered in my ear. I tried to focus on my answer instead of the way his breath on my neck set shivers down my spine...

"She found out... About us." I whispered back.

He was about to say something when the priest started talking. I focused all my attention on the priest throughout the rest of the service, and paid my respects to the ones I will deeply miss. I hadn't been friends- let alone know- all the victims, but I knew that they're time here has left a permanent mark. Just in a different way than expected. When it was time to go, I parted with Lissa and walked back to my dorm with Dimitri. She wasn't pissed anymore, but she didn't fully accept our relationship. Yet. I could tell that she was starting to understand why it was such a huge secret. Dimitri was pretty silent on the way back, and when we were cutting across campus he had taken my arm and pulled me in the opposite direction. Once we passed a familiar landmark in the woods, I knew where he was taking me. My heart rate increased, and I entwined my fingers with his. He smiled down at me as we made our way to the cabin.

When we reached the cabin, he picked me up and wrapped my legs around his body. I leaned in and kissed him, and he definitely kissed me back. It was full of so much love and... Well, lust. I tangled my fingers in his hair and he did the same to me. I let out a tiny, girly squeal as he threw me down onto the bed, playfully. My legs were still wrapped around him and I pulled him closer to me. There were no lights on, but I could still admire his features thanks to my enhanced dhampir senses. His brown hair hung loose, and tickled my face. His soft lips were beginning to close the distance between us. When they did, I knew it was about to be my second time.

I thought that, until my phone rang in my jacket pocket. I groaned, and pushed him off me. If it hadn't been Lissa's ringtone, I would've have let it go to voicemail. I mean, I know I saw her ten minutes ago, but you never know.

I pressed answer and put it up to my ear. "What's up, Liss?"

Her voice was scared and had me running out the door in a second. And, if you thought I was freaked out then, you should've seen me when she got her message to me. "I'm pregnant." Her voice was so broken. I hated it, and wanted to comfort her. Dimitri was following after me as I ran towards Lissa's dorm.

"Rose, what's wrong?"

"Lissa thinks she's pregnant."

I could imagine his shocked look from behind me. "Go. Alberta is looking for me."

I turned around abruptly, almost smacking into him. I reached up and gave him a light kiss before I resumed running to her dorm. When I reached her dorm, I noticed that, like mine, no one was watching the halls. You'd think that they'd at least send a guardian over here. Just another thing to be paranoid about, I guess. I knocked on her door, and a few minutes later she opened it with a tear-streaked face. She let me come in, and I spent the next two hours holding her and telling her everything would be alright. She eventually stopped crying and fell asleep. I carefully moved her off of my shoulder, so that she was laying down. I left my stuff there, knowing I would be back in the morning. I stepped out of her room, and silently closed the door. I headed back to my room, just in time for my phone to ring. I groaned and thought about not answering. It was Christian.
