I'm coming home

Lauren remembers being so in love and free to be herself with the only one who stole her heart, the one who made even the smallest things matter so much. Camila. She remembers when they first met, when she made her smile and blush for the first time, when she realized she was in love with her, she remembers their first kiss, she remembers the first time they made love. She remembers everything so perfectly especially the day Camila said yes to becoming her wife, but with all those memories she also remembers all the fights, the arguments, the yelling and the throwing things. Lauren remembers it all, sitting in their bed her wife's side cold and empty at 2 am. Camila works constantly, she always has, shes a people pleasanter, shes devoted to her work and patients after all she is a doctor. Camila gets so involved and attached that's what makes her such a great doctor but with her being so involved Lauren gets worried, some times she comes home upset because she lost a patient. Being in Peds is not an easy job those kids, parents and babies grow on you. As devoted as she is to her work she is most devoted to her wife, there is never a night when she doesn't come home to lay by her wife even if its only a couple hours, well that is until lately. The first night she didn't come home Lauren was a mess she thought something had happened or something went wrong just anything to explain why she hadn't come home. The next morning when Camila did make it home and was in fact safe she got an earful from Lauren but all she said was "I'll call next time" then went to their room to shower and sleep till she got called in again. Camila did keep true to her word she did in fact call every time she stayed which started off as once a week to twice a week then every other day, Lauren missed her love more than anything and could not have a decent nights sleep without a warm body next to her. 

On this night in particular Lauren was lonely and beyond a mess waiting for her wife. They got into an argument the night before because Lauren made a comment that tore at both their hearts she said "you might as well be cheating and i would probably still believe you are working" Camila walked out crying not saying a word. Its been 30 hours since shes last hear from or seen her wife Camila hasn't answered a single message or call and it's not just her wife shes ignoring she hasn't answered any of their closest friends calls either. As Lauren lays there in the empty bed staring at nowhere in particular dark evil thoughts creep into her mind. "Your marriage is over, you pushed her there" "she doesn't love you anymore she probably never has because you are worthless." At the last thought her whole body ached, she felt sick, she felt numb but felt everything all at the same time. Her whole body was humming daring her to do something, to end both of their suffering. She got up from the bed walked over to the bathroom and looked into the mirror. Who she met in the mirror was someone she knew long ago, someone she hasn't seen since she was in her teens. The broken unforgiving, and scared girl who's every other thought was about death. She gripped the sink till her knuckles were white fearing what might happen next.

Back at the hospital Camila sat in the the lounge with her eyes closed and music in her ears, well that was until her earphones were rudely pulled out of her ears. "What the Fu-" she sat up quickly and was met with smiles from all three of her high school best friends Dinah, Mani, and Ally. Camila rolled her eyes and tried to grab at her earphones "Stop" Dinah said pulling the earphones farther away being stern as Ally sat down on the couch next to Camila, still in her scrubs, Ally and her both went into the same field after high school. Dinah and Mani pulled up a couple chairs in front of them two. Camila still in a pissy mood said "why are you interrupting my quiet time? Ally you should know better than these two not to disturb another doctor on downtime." Ally just shook her head and looked away "guys I can't, I know i said i would but i can't" she said as she started to cry and got up to walk out. Camila looked between the girls in front of her to the door Ally just walked out of, she now noticed how serious this was. Camila sat up straight and tried to prepare herself for what was about to come, she had knots in her stomach ready to run if she had to. "What happened? if this is about the fight Lauren and i had i don't want to talk about it that is between my wife and I. If you are going to yell at me for not coming home leave me alone i know that was stupid but i am coming home tonight i promise." They waited for Camila to finish her rant before they looked at each other and Dinah grabbed her hand, "Mila you need to listen to me please, You wont be going home tonight babe." Dinah looked down and swallowed the lump in her throat then watched her best friend very closely "Lauren... Lauren.." she couldn't finish the tears were coming to fast, Camila didn't know if she should run or slap the crap out of Dinah and make her finish. Normani rubbed Dinah's shoulder and continued for her "Room 102" she said something else but Camila was already running down the hallways trying to get to her wife. She ran down the halls, up the stairs, past everyone and everything to get to the love of her life as soon as possible never taking a breath. When she finally got to room 102 she stopped, her whole world stopped she felt like she was going to faint and grabbed on to the wall. She closed her eyes and caught her breath her mind spinning 'Its now or never' she thought and pushed the door open...
