Brooke St. | Downtown Omaha
Celina's POV
"Wait, so you just ran away?" I asked Nate loudly, a laugh following behind my question.
A laugh slipped past the tan boys lips, his head nodding up and down. I noticed how his deep brown eyes crinkled when he was happy.
"Yeah, me and Johnson booked it out of the school so fucking fast." He explained, a smile on his face as he stuffed his hands into his pockets.
"You were a little rebel." I teased, bumping our sides playfully as we walked down the busy street.
"Still am Lil Ma." He teased, bumping me back.
A smile slipped on to my pink lips as I looked around, taking a moment to take in the small town's quaintness.
"What?" Nate asked me quizzically, his bushy eyebrows furrowing.
"I like it here, it's quiet." I explained, shrugging as we turned a corner.
"Yeah, you must not get much of that in the city that never sleeps." He teased, as he had been ever since I told him I lived in New York.
A small laugh left my mouth as I shrugged again.
"You'd be surprised, it's probably easier to find a place to hide and have quiet there than here." I said, looking at the flowers in front of a small florist shop as we walked by them.
"Where do you hide?" He asked, smirking a little in curiosity.
"There's a coffee shop in Brooklyn, and I go there." I told him, running a hand through my hair.
He nodded and we walked in a comfortable silence for a few minutes.
"What're you doing tonight?" Nate asked suddenly, turning to face me.
"That depends." I said.
"On what?" He asked, a small smile playing on his (extremely kissable) lips.
"You." I replied, a small smirk on my lips.
"There's a bonfire tonight in the woods, will you be my date?" He asked, nervously chewing on his lips as we approached my front door.
A small smile was on my lips as I walked up my steps and turned around once I was on the second one, Nate close enough behind me that when I turned I was slightly looking down at him.
"Pick me up here at eight."I answered, kissing his cheek gently.
A goofy half smile came on to his face and he nodded, stepping off the steps backwards, our eyes still locked.
"See you at eight city girl." He teased, turning on the heels on his vans and walking back down the street.
