When it was time to meet for lunch the next day I sat at our usual place. I was still pondering the situation, and still trying to view it from Kellar's place. I was afraid he wouldn't come. Maybe becasue I was used to being pushed aside. But I should have known that wasn't the case with him. Never with him.

But he did. As soon as he sat down he started apologizing. "I'm so sorry about yesterday, okay? I had a crappy class and I was emotional about my brother, and I'm just really sorry I blew up at you." He held my hand with both of his."Will your forgive me?" Kellar barely met my eyes.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course." I squeezed his hands, and repeated, "Of course."

He finally looked up at me with puppy dog eyes. "I know that Christmas is only two days away, but will you come watch Christmas movies with my parents and I?"

I looked at him with confusion. "Are you sure? I mean, my parents went on vacation, and I was just going to stay on campus for Christmas vacation."

He pushed his glasses up, "Of course I'm sure. I really want you to come. I mean, who ever heard of staying at college over break? And besides, my parents really want to meet you."

"W-why?"

Kellar looked away and I swear his cheeks went red. "Becasue, ah, I care about you a lot."

I grinned at him. "I care about you a lot too... I'd love to come."

"Okay. I'll pick you up at... uh, 4." He stood up and kissed my head as he walked by. "Merry Christmas!"

I was nervous as ever getting into Kellar's car on Christmas. I buckled my seat belt ans wiped my palms on my jeans. I dressed more casual-ish and I hoped that was okay. "Hey," I said.

"Hi, you look radiant!" Kellar grinned. His words didn't fit together but I knew he meant them, and guess what- I liked it.

"Well, you look quite spiffy yourself," I said as I tugged on his green button up shirt.

"You're nervous," he said.

I grabbed his hand, "Yeah, I guess."

"Why?" Kellar asked. He lifted the back of his hand to push of his glasses.

"I don't know... No one's ever taken me home to their parents before."

We arrived at Kellar's house and knocked on the door."Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" He asked as he hooked his arm in mine.

"I don't know. Good I guess." I leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Well, just know that there's no one I'd rather be introducing my parents too."

Mrs. Hodges opened the door with a beaming smile. "Olivia! Nice to meet you, come inside!" She took me by the arm and led me to the kitchen.

I shrugged my coat into Kellar's arms and he whispered, "I told you they were excited."
