Do you remember when you were little and you watched those TV shows. The ones where somehow love would prevail and everything evil was killed in the process.
Do you remember thinking That's what's gonna happen to me.
But, you never think about who you will actually end up with. You're thinking about that Prince Charming whisking Cinderella up off her feet. You're thinking about Sleeping Beauty being fought for by her prince.
But, what if Prince Charming just settled with one of the stepsisters? What if the Prince was too lazy to slay the dragon to wake Sleeping Beauty up?
What if we were promised reality and not a fairytale? Well, I'll tell you, we wouldn't put up with the idiots that we do. Because growing up in fairytales, only leaves you blind.
We are left defenseless in the wake of love. And no amount of advice, no amount of answers, will ever make us be able to see again.
But, than again, we'd have to believe in magic to believe in love.
That fire that ignites in your chest when he touches you. That weightless feeling when he smiles into your eyes. The laugh that you just can't seem to get enough of. And somehow all the broken hearts are forgotten in just one smile. Just one touch.
And when you know he's thinking about you, when you see it in his eyes. That's the moment when you realize everything you are being put through is so you can get through life.
I don't think that I am stupid. I don't think that I made a mistake falling for Deirdre. I don't think I made a mistake at finding my soulmate so early. Because that boy's eyes are like stain glass windows, you can see through everything he's thinking.
You can see his heart in his eyes.
And on a dreary day, it's like looking at the sky. It's like looking into Heaven. It's makes you feel like falling rain.
