Ex Boyfriend

Autumn's POV

I woke up to Max holding Winter and Sophie. He looked so cute. As soon as we could leave we went and got something better than hospital food to eat. After that we went home. Max cared for the girls while I took a nap. I woke up to my phone buzzing I walked out onto the balcony and answered the call. It was an old friend I picked up and said "Hello Asher." I had a cold tone because he was my ex. He said "Hey who is life treating ya?". I giggled and said "You know I'm married and have 2 kids right." On the other line I heard a light sob. "Oh how nice what are their names?" "Winter and Sophie" I heard Asher break out into full on tears. He told me he would call me back then hung up. Max came into the room and put the sleeping girls on the bed. He came out and stood next to me. I was still anger Asher called after 12 years. My phone started buzzing and I picked it up. It was a slightly calm but mostly angry Asher. Max heard him scream from the other line "How dare you first you move without telling me now you're married and have kids!" Max gave me a concern look and said "It's just my ex." Max kinda laughed when I said that. After talking for a few minutes I hung up. I told Max Asher wanted to meet up with me. I also said I was going but I wanted Max there with me just in case he pulled something. Our parents came over to watch the little ones and we left. I gave Max strict instructions "If he does anything I want you to come and end it I don't care what it is." Max nodded then dropped me off he parked the car and got into position since Asher didn't know him Max could sit as close to us as he wanted. I met Asher and we sat down. We talked for a little and caught up I told Asher I had to go. He got up and kissed me I saw Max go from sad to mad instantly. I pulled away immediately and Asher slapped me hard.  Max came up and punched Asher in the face. He fell to the ground and we left.

Max's POV

I can't believe the nerve that guy had. At first I thought Autumn set this up then I saw her and she looked disgusted. I knew I had to interfere and when he slapped her that just threw me over board. I punched him so hard he fell and hit the concrete. I got the car and Autumn got in. She didn't look at me or say a word. She looked devastated. I got out of the car to open the house I looked at Autumn her cheeked was bruised and was swollen. It also looked bloody. I felt so bad for if I saw this at the cafe Asher would have been a dead man. When I got to the door I stopped she looked up at me I brushed her hair away from her cheek and she winced. We went in and I got her an ice pack. We laid on the couch. She was laying on top of me watching tv. She got up and went to the bathroom she looked into mirror. She started to cry. I hugged her from behind and she turned and hugged me. She whispered "I'm sorry". I looked at her and said "For what." She pointed to her lips I knew what she meant I told her she didn't have to be it wasn't her fault. We kissed and went back out to the tv.
