luke: i'm gonna try to get calum to talk to me again today

michael: didn't you say you're wearing your white skirt?

luke: yeah

michael: then getting his attention definitely won't be a problem

luke smiles at his phone before climbing out of his car, straightening out his white skirt, and starting his usual route to class. his hips sway as he walks through the school courtyard and the looks from random people are expected but what he doesn't expect is the lingering stare calum has on him.

his skin is set on fire under calum's vision as he walks passed him into the school. that's new, luke thinks.

the blonde sits back in his seat and scribbles random things on his notebook until there's a thud in the desk next to him. he looks over to see none other than calum seated next to him, burning holes in every inch of exposed skin on luke's body. if looks could fuck, luke would be recked.

calum leans forward and smiles. "hey, sunshine. how's your head?"

"fine." the blue eyed boy glances down at where calum's sitting, "that's not your seat."

"you're right." calum points to the desk luke is sitting in, "that's my seat."

luke mentally slaps himself when he looks around and realizes he sat in the wrong row. "do you want it back?"

calum shakes his head and smirks as he flicks up the bottom of luke's short skirt. he chuckles softly, "cute."

a blush spreads over luke's cheeks as well as heat under the skin of his upper thigh that calum's fingers brush over. the bell rings signaling the start of class and calum finally leans back in his seat.

luke tries to ignore the way calum is looking up and down his legs as the teacher announces a project that's due in a week and everyone groans. she informs everyone that they can either work alone or with a partner and luke automatically chooses the first option since he hates having to count on someone else.

"wanna be my partner?" calum asks, bringing luke's attention away from the notes he was writing in his notebook.

"i prefer to work alone," luke replies honestly.

"come on, it'll be fun. i can come over..." luke shivers at the way calum said fun, "it's not like it would be hard anyway, since you live right across the street," calum pointed out.

"why don't you work with one of your friends over there?" luke nods towards a couple of guys and girls talking about who knows what.

calum leans in closer. "because they're idiots, and so am i. that's why i need you to teach me."

luke fiddles with his pencil for a second before sighing. "fine. but i'm not doing all the work."

"deal."

a paper with the words "project partners" gets passed onto luke's desk and he reluctantly puts his and calum's name down as he watches calum smile proudly from the corner of his eye.

the school bell rings and luke shoves his notebook in his bag.

"i'll come over later," calum says and luke just nods before hurrying out of the room and pulling his phone out once he's in the hall.

luke: calum's my partner for a class project and he's coming over my house later

luke: i think i'm dying

luke: or the world is ending?

michael: woah let's back it up for a sec

michael: he's going to your house?!!!!!

luke: yeah

michael: why aren't you freaking out

luke: i'm still convinced i'm hallucinating

luke: i gotta get to class talk to you later
