My heart raced and my mouth suddenly felt dry. Did he seriously just say that after one day? Granted, I've loved him for a year now, since I kind of knew him from YouTube. But he's only known me for a day!

As if reading my thoughts, Aleks whispered, "I know it's only been a day, but... but I really feel something for you, Miranda." He pulled away to look in my eyes, and stroked my cheek. A small tear drifted onto my face.

Aleks looked a bit hurt. "Don't you want to say something? Anything?"

I smiled, another tear flowed down my cheek. "When a tear falls from the right eye, it's pain. But when it's the left eye, like now, it's love." I looked up at him, and smiled shyly. His brown eyes were twinkling, and I could see flecks of gold in them.

I had to say the words. I had to! I did love him, but it seemed too early... GOD DAMMIT MIRANDA JUST TELL HIM.

I swallowed, and murmured to him, "I love you, too..."

Aleks grinned and hugged me tight. Another tear escaped my eye.

He half-pulled away from our hug, and asked, "What does it mean if tears come out of both eyes?"

Giggling, I replied, "You just stepped on a Lego!"

Aleks laughed, and hugged me tighter. I sank into him sturdy arms, listening to the murmurs of the crowd.

We had left the crazy scene at Comic-Con, and were back in the hotel. Dan had brought out Cards Against Humanity, my favorite game, and we had been playing for hours.

"So," James said. "Where do you two live?"

I raised an eyebrow. "You gonna stalk my best friend? Eh? FIGHT ME FOR HER!" I was standing up, throwing fake punches, bouncing on my feet.

James laughed. "Maybe... I'm just curious."

"Too curious..." I said, sitting back down.

Aleks nudged me. "Seriously, where do you guys live?"

I swallowed nervously, and glanced at Sylvia. She was scratching the back of her head. A sign that she wasn't very comfortable with the topic or just nervous.

I tried to stall them. "Seriously, why are you so curious?"

Dan rolled his eyes. "It's only fair. You know where we live."

"Everyone does!"

He crossed his arms.

Aleks looked at me. "Why can't you tell us? You guys criminals or something?"

Hurt, I turned away. "N-No! Of course not! It's just..."

James raised an eyebrow.

We really were not criminals, not at all. Sylvia and I were hitting hard times. Hitting them really hard, like brick walls.

... Stop with the dirty mind! Geez!

Sylvia had been recently abused by her ex, and I'm pretty sure James never got to see the scars and bruises. Sometimes when Sylvia wasn't enough, he'd come after me. But I fought back a lot, which earned me extra scars. I'm pretty sure that Aleks hasn't seen them yet, but I'm not sure.

But because of her ex, we ran away one night, and became homeless. We weren't very popular in school, so all we had were each other. Sylvia and I had been on the road for a few months now, and we were lucky that we could come to Comic-Con, and have our costumes. And especially lucky he never came after us. He didn't care enough about his sex toys and stress-relievers.
