Sound Of Your Heart

Brandon's tired...he's been tired since middle school started. The only good thing about his day is lunch and the the only good part of his week is the afternoons. Skyler has been hanging out with Trinity so much, Maddie doesn't seem to have an interest. But he still sits with Brandon over her, and he's never hugged Trinity. But some days Brandon just wishes he could be with Skyler, just them. He wanted Skyler to himself, but once again Brandon is unsure of how he really feels and there still stands that gap between them that grants Trinity all the room with Skyler she desires.
Brandon lost in thought when Skyler scares him from behind.

"You ok?..." Skyler trails off, much concern in his eyes

"Yeah I-" Brandon gets cut off

"Skyler come her!" Trinity yells from another table.

Skyler walks away but not without giving Brandon a look saying sorry...

"He's made so many friends, here I am...just wanting him to myself. What's wrong with me?..."

"Is this seat taken?" A kind voice asks

Brandon looks up, it's the other girl Maddie, Trinity's friend. She's pretty, but insecure.

"Not anymore, have a seat" Brandon practically inviting her now.

"I can see the jealousy in your eyes...the way you look at him with her."

"Dammit, is it that obvious..?"

"Well, I don't know about jealous...he's just been my friend for 2 years now but we're really close"

"Don't play dumb Brandon, you should tell him...I've been hanging out with them for the last couple weeks, you don't know everything you may think you know" Maddie now having a serious but sounding somewhat like she wants to help.

Skyler and Brandon sit together on the bus as usual, but this time Brandon gets a weird feeling..almost like he's nervous. He brushes it off and talks Skyler to sleep, unfortunately for Brandon, Skyler falls asleep on Brandon's shoulder. This brings back that strange feeling, Brandon doesn't understand a lot of things, the difference between love and caring for a friend is one of them. Brandon looks down, them being the last on the bus with at least 15 minutes left. He studies Skyler's skin, he's still really thin, Brandon now slightly worried. Skyler has wrapped his arm around Brandon's, getting comfortable. They're in close corners and Brandon can't keep his eyes away from Skyler, hoping this never ends. His eyes start to roam over his face, Brandon places his hand lightly against Skyler's cheek

"He's completely knocked out..."

Brandon noticing how soft Skyler's skin actually was, lowers his gaze to Skyler's lips. Brandon not realizing how he was moving closer when the bus jolted to a stop, waking Skyler.

"What are you doing?..." Skyler's looking Brandon straight in the eyes.

"There was something on your face, sorry" Brandon replies nervously.

They get off the bus, Brandon goes to Skyler's house, determined to talk to him about Trinity and maybe this feeling. Brandon knows he can tell Skyler anything...but somehow he almost feels uncomfortable telling him about this.

Brandon didn't tell or confess anything to Skyker, he's been getting more and more disappointed in himself and his feelings.
