[I'm sorry this is so...late I guess, school and some other stuff has been going on and I guess I needed a break from this story, schools out now though...so if you actually enjoy this story I'll update regularly again]

People...they have secrets, some complex some simple.
Friends...they have secrets, they don't always keep them from eachother... depends on the friendship...or the secret.
Would you keep a secret from someone you trust, know well about, feels like you share everything with, someone you love? But you know telling them would make them worry...

Monday morning Brandon goes to school alone because Skyler said Sunday he was not feeling well. Just this morning he said he was feeling worse..dizzy, weak, light headed. Brandon is definitely worried out of his mind and insisted on staying home with Skyler, but Skyler said it was ok...it was not ok.

"Where's Skyler?" The homeroom teacher asks

"He's sick" Brandon gives a simple answer as he isn't interested in talking today.

"Yeah, sick of you always babying him" some kid mutters in Brandon's ear

Brandon ignores him, Skyler's always been a little thin and this isn't the first time this has happened so he may be a little protective but he just cares. Branson skips his next three classes.

"I really should've just stayed home, I'm too distracted to do work and deal with people." Brandon thinks to himself.

Later that day, Brandon feels like this school day won't end, and Skyler won't answer the phone. Brandon gives up and just goes home as fast as possible because Skyler always answers him...

He gets to Skyler's house and opens the door yelling his name.

"Is he asleep?" Brandon trying to distract any other reason of his dead response.

Brandon rushes into Skyler's room, relieved to see he's ok and is actually just asleep. Last time this happened he wasn't nearly as sick so it wasn't too much too worry and his mother was around. Brandon isn't sure what to do, he wants to call the hospital but he doesn't know what to tell them and or what to do. So he calls Skyler's mother instead.

Brandon: Hey, its Brandon I called because of Skyler. He's sleeping but I'm a little worried do you think we should take him to the hospital?

He paused, the thoughts he was suppressing came to the surface.

Brandon: I'm really worried you see and I really love him

Skyler's mom (Liz): I'm in no position to come down, Brandon I'm in Florida..call the hospital...I don't want to worry about this anymore and Brandon...just take care of him because I love him too

Brandon: I will call them, and I will never leave his side I a sure you that, thank you..

[Call Ended]

Brandon calls the hospital and Skyler is taken to have a check up. Skyler knew something was wrong, he didn't want Brandon to worry and he made a deal with his mother to keep the secret too, but it just can't be helped anymore.

Skyler spends the night at the hospital they treat him and he's ready to go home the next day. Brandon spent the rest of the day yesterday alone and he will do the same till 8:00PM tonight. It makes him nervous, he's not used to being alone and he doesn't know what he'd do without Skyler. Summer also just started so prior to the day he half skipped they had two more after which Brandon missed for Skyler's hospital visit.

"I don't know what TO DOOOOO" Brandon says in a annoyed/bored tone.

"I technically have a lot to do, but I don't feel like doing it when I'm worried, when was the last time I felt so empty?...when was the last time I felt tired without doing anything?..when was the last time I was...alone?" Brandon hasn't had thoughts like this in a long time, he doesn't particularly like them either.

He falls asleep, holding on tightly to one of Skyler's shirts...waiting in his sleep for something to tell him Skyler's ok...

Brandon has a dream while he's asleep...only it wasn't a dream. It was reality trying to wake him up.

The phone rings, Brandon hears it but doesn't answer because he's asleep and thinks he's dreaming. The voicemail goes off and a female voice starts speaking

[The voice]
I'm calling to tell you are patient Skyler will not be coming home tonight due to something the doctors overlooked. Please as soon as you get this call us or come down to the hospital...
[BEEP]

All of a sudden all Brandon can see is Skyler in the hospital bed, the heart monitor slowing down and coming to a stop. Brandon can't move, can't speak. He hears Skyler say "I'm sorry"
He wakes up not even realizing he started crying.

"It was a dream, he's alright..." Brandon tells himself. But then he sees the flashing red light on the home phone...there's a voicemail. He doesn't want to listen to it, but he knows what it is so he skips it and goes to the hospital...

He gets there around 7:36PM, 30 minutes before Skyler is supposed to be let out.

"I'm here because I got a call for Skyler, I was asleep so there was a message." His heart is racing but he's trying to stay calm.

"Oh yeah, I was told you were allowed to go to this room for your friend and the doctors will fill you in." A nice nurse tells him.

He's not allowed to run so he walks at a rate you could consider jogging. A lump in his throat from trying not to cry, just hoping things are alright.

"Skyler...please be ok" Brandon trying to reassure himself.

Brandon gets to the room, the curtains are closed. He knocks and a doctor who's been waiting opens the door.

"Can we talk, outside?" The doctors asks.

"Yeah...sure" Brandon is desperate to see him, he gets a glance..Skyler's still asleep.

"I called the mother and she told me you would like to know as well, this isn't easy because she explained how close you two are...but your friend is in a diabetic coma, and because we didn't know the matter before hand and he's been dealing with this with no proper care...he may not wake up." The doctor finishes, waiting for a response.

"...excuse me" Brandon lightly moves the doctor aside and goes inside Skyler's room. He stares at him, the heart monitor at a moderate pace.

"Why....why...WHY HIM?!" Brandon has acrimony thoughts. There is nothing he can do from here, he feels the tears running down his face and he decides to just leave.

He walks home, he can't hear anything and everything seems colorless and blurry knowing Skyler might be gone he can't see the world as happy as a place anymore and he can't see himself surviving this thing called life without Skyler.

"It'll be ok...hopefully" Brandon says aloud when he's really thinking...

"Why didn't he tell me about this..?"
