The day before the ball dawned on the Jung Manor. Amber awoke and did what she had to do for the princess before she woke up. Then, she went into the garden to pick the princess some flowers. She saw an outhouse and believed it was someone who lived on the property's garden. Plus, as far as Amber knew, there was 0 gardeners tending a garden.
Amber gazed at the blue and red flowers, confused on what to get the princess. She had wanted to make her a corsage. Reaching down, she heard stifled foot steps coming her way. She stood upright, scared to see Qian. But it was a familiar looking guy. Short brown hair. Tattered fedora. Overalls. Henry Lau.
"Amber?" Henry asked, surprised. "Why are you out here in these parts?"
"I serve the wonderful princess," Amber replies, heart fluttering at the word princess . "What about you?"
"I serve her and the royal family. I tend the garden. Why are you trying to steal her own flowers? Gotta pretty yourself for someone," Henry asked in a playfully jealous way.
Amber smiled looking at the castle. "No. I want to give a friend something."
Henry chewed the inside of his cheek, scratching his head. "Ah. I kinda was thinking about you the other day."
Amber snapped her head at Henry. They probably did have something going on back in the Americas. They were sort of dating. But they were merely friends. Henry always played the protective guy friend though and often wanted to escalate their relationship. Amber was again, lost at words.
Henry stood close to her. She could smell his breath. It smelled like nothing to her. He grabbed her wrists. "How about taking a stab at us again?"
"How about no?"
Amber and Henry whip their heads around to see Soojung stomping over in her flats. Amber shook out of Henry's wrist grab. Soojung looked a tad furious. Her lips were firm and her eyes on fire. Amber sighed and looked at Henry. "Henry, maybe I won't get any flowers."
"I am sincerely sorry, madame," Henry croaked.
Amber looked at Soojung. "Madame, I had wanted to pick some flowers for you and Henry is just an old friend."
"I don't like you being close to others like that," Soojung stammered. "I feel alone enough."
Amber sucked in her cheeks and grabbed the princess's hands. "I shall prepare you some food. My madame is jealous when I am in close contact with others," Amber chuckled. "I only cater to my madame."
Henry felt totally awkward. He did not understand why Amber did not apologize or merely begged for an excuse of an embarassment. Princess Soojung was very respectful yet cold to him. Why was she being so tender with Amber. Better yet, Amber being very sweet and flirtatious with the princess?
Amber and Soojung ate ice cream together outside facing the backwoods and they saw birds, hunters, and other things. Amber looked at Soojung. "Why do you, a princess feel so alone with all these riches?"
Soojung crossed her legs and sat her bowl aside. "I can't choose my path in life. I have to marry Kim Jongin though his parents were allegedly talked to. I don't believe it. His parents adore me. My parents love him. I also can't even make proper friends. I am really close to Qian. But, around others, she refuses to show me friendliness. Then, my parents are always out of the country handling business. They can't even show up to my pre-birthday ball. " Soojung's eyes began to water. Her cheeks began to redden.
Amber suddenly regretted asking that question. "I...I..I am here for you, madame."
"Don't call me 'madame' anymore," Soojung sniffled. Amber took off her jacket and wrapped it around Soojung.
"Then what can I call you respectively?"
"Soojung."

After dinner, Amber went back out to collect some flowers and tried to talk to Henry again. He was watering the crops on the east side of the garden. Amber, hesitantly, walked over to him. "Henry."
"Look, why are you talking to the royal heir so informally?" Henry asked, angrily. "Are you two friends?"
"Yes," Amber answered quickly, unsure of their relationship.
Henry chortles sarcastedly and then pushed Amber against the little tiny house's back door, gently. "I am missing something aside from you and the princess's relationship. I miss you."
Amber started sweating beads beneath her neck, 5 inches where Henry's hands were. Amber looked away from Henry's desperate eyes. "I apologize but I am not accepting feelings right now."
"I am in need of love, Amber Liu," Henry demands. "I love you so much."
Amber sighs. "Please. I...think I can't right now."
Henry's lips meets Amber's for the first time in Henry's forever. Amber pushed Henry away from her body.
"I refuse," Amber snapped while walking away. She felt so wrong. Like she had cheated someone. She felt nothing else with Henry
Henry watched as Amber walked away in silence. He splashed his face with water and then looked up to see a beautiful face looking back at him. Sun-Young.
"I told you not to ever interfere with Amber again..." she said coldly.
Henry laughed and then stopped only to look at Sun-Young in a very evil way. "I will have her once again."
"You aren't destined to be with her. I am actually. No one is going to stand in my way, not even Princess Soojung, herself." Sun-Young smiled warmly. It scared Henry so badly, Henry tried to gain his pride once again to fight back.
"Amber will be with me."
"We shall see," Sun-Young said, walking back into the dark woods.
