"Ma'am, we've missed you." Freida said, as soon as she saw him.
"Aren't you ever off duty?" Carter asked, wondering whether she ever took a break. He kept coming in at different times and she was always there.
"I'm off duty in ten minutes, you just happen to come by whenever I'm there. Are you sure you're not stalking me, cupcake?" She winked.
"Oh, sugar bun, I'm sure you're hoping that I stalk you but I don't. I just have the privilege of coming here whenever you're at work," he replied. It was partially true. He saw from the outside of the shop if she was there and if she wasn't, he simply left.
"Cake bear, I somehow don't believe you," she said.
Trying to change the topic, he said, "Cake bear? What kind of a name is that?"
"It's called inventing a new phrase. Look it up, will you? Anyway, it's time for me to go. Linda will help you," she said and called out to another girl who he assumed was Linda and left before he could get to her.
Oh well, there was always next month.
