Bianca woke up to her phone's non-stop ringing. It has been three days since she moved to Seoul and all she has been doing the entire time was experiment on new recipes, listen to music and read. Chelsea said to relax didn't she? Why is she calling? she said as she desperately tried to ignore the annoying sound coming from the gadget, but, she finally gave up.
"Hello?" She lazily answered the phone, not even bothering to look at the caller ID.
"Bianca Andrea Dominguez!" The woman on the other line said.
Uh-oh. Bianca knew exactly who it was.
"Hi, mom." She responded yawning while she sat up. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to call you right away. I got a little busy." She explained to her mom still half-awake.
"Busy?! Already?! It has only been three days since you landed there!" Her mom already screaming on the other line.
"Well, okay. I was busy experimenting on new recipes to present to Chelsea and Minhyuk for when they get back. I'm so sorry." Still explaining.
"Sweetheart, please don't give me a heart-attack. You have to call me when you say you'll call me because I get worried. It's not like you're just here, you know?! You moved. OUT. OF. THE. COUNTRY! You..." Bianca's mom raved on.
"Okay, mom. I'm completely awake now. Thank you very much." She annoyingly cut her mother off from what other things she was going to say.
"I'm really sorry. It won't happen again." She apologized again as she made her way to the kitchen to make coffee.
"Okay. So how was your flight? How's the new apartment? Have you made new friends yet? Are you eating on time?" Her mom asked without pausing.
"Flight's fine. Apartment is perfect." She said lifelessly.
"Mom, let't talk later. I ran out of coffee so, I need to go grocery shopping. Love you. Bye!" Bianca said quickly and shut her phone off.
Liar. She scolded herself.
Bianca loves her mom very much but, sometimes she felt being treated like a gradeschooler when she's almost in her 30's. She's the eldest of four but, all of her siblings are either already married or engaged so, her mom worried about her choice of being single after her last relationship.
Technically, you didn't lie B. You really need to go and buy stuff today. She muttered to ease the guilt feeling already rising in her.Okay. Let's do something productive today. She said to herself.
She turned on the radio and a song from the boy group BigBang filled the room. She took out her phone and checked what's in her calendar for the day.
Nothing? You have got to be kidding me! She was genuinely shocked because she was used to having a packed schedule everyday.
I think we can do better than this, Biancs. She said to herself and started adding things to do in her calendar while singing along to the song on the radio. "I'm so sorry but, I love you da geojitmal..."She checked the time and it read 6:30am. Whoah!
My mom is genuinely something else. She muttered to herself as she finishes her to-do list. She stretched to fully wake her body and stepped into the bathroom for a quick shower.Jog, grocery shopping, visit places, explore food. Sounds good. She read while putting on her running clothes. She chose her favorite blue yoga pants matched with a black tank top. She wore a light grey hoodie over it and paired it with her white running shoes.
Looks... okay. She said as she looked at herself in the mirror half satisfied with what she sees.
She tied her hair in a messy bun, picked up her ipod and strapped it around her arm, stuffed cash in her pocket and headed for the door.
The nearest grocery doesn't open until about 9:30am so, I still have plenty of time to jog along Han River. She said as she checked the time that read 7:30am before locking the door behind her.She noticed people in the hallway carrying boxes and rolling luggages into the what used to be an empty apartment next to hers, as she walked towards the elevator.
"Oh. New neighbors. Cool! "She murmured to herself as she plugged in her earbuds.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, she did not notice the person in it, carrying a stack of boxes. She slightly bumped into the boxes knocking down the box on top.
"Oops! Sorry! Here I'll pick it up." She apologized while picking up the box, which she quickly placed back on top of the stack.
"Be careful. You might trip on the carpet." She said before the elevator closed behind her.
"Thank you!" The guy carrying the boxes called out to her but, the elevator doors already closed. "Whoever you are."****
"What took you so long?" Jimin asked, as soon as Taehyung entered their new apartment.
"Could you please help me first before you start asking me questions?" Taehyung said glaring at his brother.
"I'll help you, hyung!" Jungkook volunteered.
"Ah. Our ever helpful maknae! Thank you! I'll treat you for a drink later. " Tae promised and flashed him a big rectangular smile. "I bumped into someone in the elevator and she knocked down one of the boxes so..." Taehyung started and trailed off as soon as Jin walked into the room.
"Okay. Now that everybody's here, let's all celebrate our new home." Jin announced bringing out a cake from the kitchen. Everybody started jumping, running around the house and making noise.Their new place is two times bigger than their old dorm. The unit is the biggest on the floor as it has seven rooms. One for each member. The building owner had it customized and joined two units to accommodate the new tenants' needs.
As specified by their agency, the boys wanted all white soundproof walls, black furniture, spacious living room, an eight-seater dining, a big kitchen, laundry area, and a wide balcony. The boys specifically requested to have an area in the balcony where they can sit so, they can enjoy their morning coffee better during their free time. Namjoon and Yoongi also asked for their own work rooms for creating songs. While the boys ate their cake, they talked about their room assignments.
"Jin, should pick his room first since he's the eldest. Then I will go next and so on. Agreed?" Yoongi proposed.
"Yes." All the other members approved.Jin picked the first room on the right of the hallway beside the first bathroom. Yoongi picked the first on the left. Hoseok chose the last room on the left followed by Namjoon picking the second room on the right after the bathroom. Jimin and Taehyung took the two separate bedrooms nearest to the balcony with an adjacent bathroom leaving Jungkook with the second room on the left of the hallway.
As soon as they finalized their room assignments, everyone busied themselves with unpacking their things and decorating their rooms.
"Namjoon, this box has your name on it. It was placed in my room by accident." Hoseok said tossing the box that was labeled "Namjoon's underwear".
"Ah! I thought I lost them! Hahaha!" Namjoon laughed in relief.
"Did you really have to label the box like that? Too revealing brother." Hoseok teased while laughing.
"Hey. Don't hate. It's how I keep my things organized." Namjoon defended while putting his things in his closet.
"Organized my ass. Yeah. Yeah. I'm pretty sure it will only take some time before you break something here." Hoseok said laughing as he laid on the foot Namjoon's bed.
"Whew! I didn't think we had that much stuff in the old dorm!" Namjoon said plopping on his bed, ignoring what his brother just said.
"I don't really have too much stuff like you and Taehyung does. So, no problem with unpacking. All done!" Jimin said, entering Namjoon's room too.
"Hey, I'm done too. All my things are well placed in the boxes and luggage so, all I had to do was put them in the closet. Where's Jungkook?" Taehyung, suddenly appearing in the doorway.
"Kookie are you done unpacking?!" Jimin shouted from the room.
"Almost! What are we doing after?" Jungkook shouted back.
"We are buying food to give to our neighbors. There is a supermarket two blocks from here." Jin said as he walked in the room.
"What about us? Aren't we going to eat? I'm starving!" Yoongi came in complaining.
"Yeah! Me too!" All the members answered in unison.
"Okay, done! We'll get something to eat. Could you all please leave my room now so I can finish unpacking my stuff?" Namjoon said with a slight annoyance in his face.
With that, the members left his room and prepared to go out.****
"Hey, Chels? I'll call you back in a bit. I've got to run back to the supermarket, I forgot the lemons and cucumbers. Okay? Bye!"
Bianca put on a white cropped top shirt with the words STAY AWAY in black, bold letters printed on the chest, denim cut-off shorts, tied a blue plaid shirt around her waist and slipped on her Air Jordan 1 Royal. She grabbed her phone and wallet, stuffed them into her bag and headed out the door. How can you forget those when you had a list?! Now you have to go back. Jeez, Bianca! She silently scolded herself as she walked towards the elevator.
