"So..Mary Margret, tell us about your soulmate!" One of my friends, Regina said. Regina has medium length dark brown/black hair with brown eyes. She is about my height but we have very different personalities.
"Alright, alright. He's tall, has dark blonde/ light brown hair and very charming!" My other friend, Mary Margret squealed. Mary Margret has a pixie cut with black hair and green eyes. She's only about an inch or two taller then me.
We are currently at Mary Margret's apartment because we are spending the night here since her parents are out of town. Mary Margret recently found her soul mate.
You may be wondering how we know he's her soul mate. Well, let me explain. When everyone is born, there is a clock that counts down to the exact second we will meet our soul mates on our inner, right wrist. People used to think that it was magic. But it isn't. It's just how things are. People say that when the clock goes down to zero and you meet your soul mate, you feel a spark. I don't know exactly what that means since I haven't found my soulmate yet and I don't know if it's even true yet. But I am very excited to find out.
Everyone meets their soul mates at different times. Sometimes people meet their soul mates at a very young age and for others, they meet them when they are older. For me, it seems like it's taking quite a while.
My adoptive mother, Sara Fisher, found her soulmate when she was young. Although, he died before I could ever meet him. She told me they got married and tried for kids but wasn't able to have any and that's part of the reason she adopted me.
"Emma? Hello?" I snapped out of my thoughts when I head Regina and saw her waving her hand in front of my face.
"Huh? What?" I said, completely alert now.
Mary Margret giggled. "We asked how much time you have left until you meet your soulmate."
"Oh..um..I'm not sure. Let me check." I pulled up my sleeve to look at how much time there was left. I gasped. "Only two more days!"
Regina and Mary Margret gasped at the same time and crawled over to me. Regina grabbed my wrist to look at it.
"Only 2 more days, 5 hours, 28 minutes, and 34 seconds, 33 seconds, 32 seconds, 31 seconds-"
I cut Regina off before she could continue. "Ya, ok, we get it, Regina." I chuckled at her.
"Sorry! I'm just so excited for you!" She said happily and gave me a hug. Soon Mary Margret decided to make it a group hug.
"Alright, alright, guys. That's enough hugging." I laughed. "How much time do you have, Regina?"
They both pulled off of me and sat back. "47 days." Regina pouted like a little kid.
"Hey, it's ok. That's still really close!" I said optimistically, hoping to cheer her up.
"Ya, you're right." She smiled at me.
"How about we go to Granny's to celebrate?" Mary Margret stood up and clapped her hands once.
"Ya, I'm getting hungry anyways." I said and stood up next to her.
"I'll go if you carry me to the car." Regina said, still laying on the ground.
"Nope. Now get your lazy ass up and into my beautiful Volkswagen Beetle." I said while crossing my arms and looking down at her.
"Fine. If you help me up." She said and stuck her hand out for me to take.
"Ugh. Fine." I grabbed her hand and struggled to pull her up. Mary Margret stood behind me, laughing at us.
"Guys! Let's go!" She said while laughing.
I tightened my grip on Regina's hand and yanked her up.
"Finally. Now get your keys and let's go!" She yelled at me in a playful way.
I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed my keys and we drove off to granny's. We live in quite a small town called StoryBrooke so it only took us a couple of minutes to get there.
Once we got there we went in and ran to the booth that we normally sit at. Mary Margret and I sat on one side while Regina sat across from us. Our friend, Ruby was working today so we sat and waited for her to show up.
Not much longer Ruby came up to us holding a notepad and a pen to write down our orders. "What do you want, bitches?" Ruby said with a smirk on her face.
Ruby is tall and thin with long brown hair that has red stripes in it and she has green eyes. Ruby is the kind of friend that calls us names but in a playful way and that's something that I love about her.
"I'll take a grilled cheese with some water." I said and smiled sweetly at her. She rolled her eyes while still smirking.
"I'll do the same as Emma." Mary Margret said.
"Just get me some lasagna and water." Regina said while putting her feet on the table and leaning back.
Ruby frowned at her. "Get your ugly ass shoes off the table."
"Damn, someone's extra salty today!" Regina said and took her feet off the table.
"I've been working all day. I'm getting a bit tired of all the screaming kids and crying babies." She said and left our table while we all laughed.
About 10 minutes later Ruby came back with all of our food. "Thanks, Red." I said. We call her Red as a nickname since she wears red a lot and little red riding hood is her favorite story book character. Although let's be honest, she is nothing like red riding hood.
"Ya, ya, whatever." She waved us off and left to go to some other table.
"Sometimes I feel bad for her. Her granny makes her work way too much." Mary Margret said while taking a bite of her grilled cheese. Ruby's granny is the owner of the diner and makes Ruby work quite a bit. But hey, at least she gets paid.
We all agreed and then started to eat our food and I let my thoughts take over my mind.
I wonder what my soulmate will look like. What color eyes will he have? Will he be tall or short? Water color hair will he have? How old will he be? What will his personality be like? Will he be nice? Or will he be a jerk? I've heard stories of people that's soul mates were jerks when they found out who they were and it took them a while to get along and finally fall in love. I wonder if my soulmate will be the kind of guy that I'll fall in love with right a way or if he'll be hard for me to get along with at first.
My thoughts were interrupted when Regina threw a piece of food at my face.
"What the hell!" I yelled and grabbed a napkin to wipe the food off of my face.
"What were you thinking about? Was it your soul mate?" She said and raised her eyebrows at me. I looked over at Mary Margret to see her smirking at me.
"Shut up." I said and took another bite of my grilled cheese.
"You were!" Mary Margret yelled.
"I said shut up!" I said and put my hand over her mouth. I pulled my hand away quickly when I felt her lick my hand and wiped it on her shirt. "Hey!" I yelled.
Regina and Mary Margret both laughed and I rolled my eyes.
