My heart beats fast.

Dan.

But...
How?

She said he was..

I'm too afraid to move. I want to scream, but I don't have the strength to.
All the sound in the world goes silent, like if there had been a bomb exploded, and my ears are filled with the repeated ringing.
The world slows.

The silence is interrupted by Dan screaming.
The Director suddenly grabs my arm and points something to my head.
Dan starts crying, yelling.

"NO!!! PLEASE!!" Tears are rushing down his face, and I can't do anything about it because If I move, I could die right there.
He struggles and screams.

I feel her grip on me loosen, and when I turn around, Jessie has her, and is yelling at me to go.

The world is all going so slow, all the movements are slow and getting slower, as if any second, the world could just stop.

I run as fast as I can over to Dan and untie him, he gets up and comes to hug me, but I push him away and tell him to run. He stutters,

"A-Alright." He starts running, and I go after him.

He's obviously lost, so I just grab his hand and run as fast as I can, not caring what is around me.

We reach the front door, but we're pulled back by our shirts.
A strange man who is way bigger than me holds me in his grasp, preventing me from running away.

Dan shoves his fingers in the guard's eyes, and he lets go, screaming in agony.
We both bolt and head for the door.
They can't reach us if we're outside.

I hear a scream in the back and I turn for it,
The Director, is running towards us.. Holding a gun.

I push the door, and she falls, dropping her gun.

She looks up at us and screams.
"DON'T LEAVE ME HERE!!!!!!!"

Her voice becomes inaudible as we burst out the door, and start running like it's all we can do.

I start panting as we get a few yards away from the hospital.

I realize something's missing.
I dash for the door as I hear Dan calling after me.
"PHIL! LETS GO!" He stops in his tracks.

I run and run, and I feel someone leap on me, and I fall to the ground along with them.
I look up and it's Jessie.

He smiles and we get up. We start running back to Dan, and start running.

We catch a bus, and get a lot of strange looks from people.
Two guys dressed in complete white, and a guy with bruises on him.
Don't see that in the public often.

We head home, and I'm still wondering what to do about Jessie.
Does he live around here?
"Jessie, where are you staying?" I say.
"I don't know. I'll find a place." He looks into the streets.

"You can stay with us! It's no trouble at all!" I smile, and I see Dan in the corner of my eye with his mouth swing open.

"No, I really couldn't intrude, It's okay!" He starts walking, when I grab his arm and pull him back.

"It's alright, no harm." I smile.
He nods, "thank you."
"No problem."

We go inside, and Dan is right behind us.
I hear him mumbling under his breath.

We go inside, and Jessie gasps.
"Just like the videos!" He chuckles.
Dan rolls his eyes.

He walks away, leaving me and Jessie alone.

I show him around, and say that he can make himself at home.

"I'll take the couch, if that's okay." He looks at me.

"Nonsense! You're sleeping in my room, I'll take the couch!"
"Woah. Are you sure?! It's really okay, you don't have to do all this! The couch is just fine-"
I cut him off.

"It's really fine." I smile.

He nods.

A few hours later, 12:45

Everyone has decided to go to bed, but I need to talk to Dan is his room for a while, so I let Jessie sleep.
I walk over to Dan's room, and shut the door.

I walk over and sit on his bed, looking at his bruises.

He puts his laptop down and looks back at me straight in the eyes.
"What did they do to you..?"
My voice trails off as I take my hand and touch the bruise on his lower eye. He winces.

"I don't want to talk about it." He sighs.

"Well you have to eventually, right?" I tilt my head slightly.
He nods.
"They told me you were alive.. But I would never see you again." I see his eyes start to water, and mine do too.

I hold his hand.
"They told me you were dead." A tear rolls down my face.

"They wouldn't tell me anything else. They just said you died. I was wondering where you were, I had to make myself believe that you were dead. I actually believed it. I didn't want to accept it..." My voice cracks.

He takes my face in his hands, and wipes a tear away.
It makes me cry even more, and I bury my face in his chest, not wanting to let go.

He holds me and brushes my hair with his fingers, which calms me down a bit.

"If anyone ever tells you I'm dead, please don't believe it. Believe that I'm out there waiting for you to find me. Go look for me even if you believe I'm gone.." He says.

"Don't let anyone keep you from believing I'm still out there." He holds me and rubs my back.

He leans his head onto mine and whispers,

"You just have to look for me."
