I woke up on the bathroom floor. My cheeks were damp from tears. I was really thirsty, so I got up and I jumped back realizing there was glass all o er the floor. I started to scan the floor for a pathway to get out but to my surprise there was no longer any glass on the floor?!
I hesitantly got up and walked to the sink, I filled up a cup with the tap water and turned around so I can see everything, as I started to cautiously sip at the water images from last night flashed through my mind. Shivers ran down my spine making me tense up.
I got out of the restroom and worked my way sleepily to my bed. My back was sore from the tile of the bathroom and I was really tired.
I yawned and stretched and rubbed my back, a few loud pops were heard.
I looked out the window and then I felt warm breath on my neck.
"You know, sleeping on hard floor in a ball isn't good for you. " the man growled. My face heated up, probably just from feeling the warm breath. I tended up and didn't move.
I counted to 10 and then turned around and swung at anyone who was behind me. But there wasn't anyone, I saw the man I met in 'the Room' standing by the doorway.
"Hey! I know you!" I called out of the blue.He only chuckled. "Ah, yes. I do believe we've met. "
My face heated up again.
"How do you know my name, and how are you haunting my dreams?!" I half shouted at him."I just do. " he cooed.
I clenched my fists and held back the resistance to swing at him.
"Tomas..." He started, "don't think you're all that innocent. You are in a mental hospital after all. " he laughed and shook his head. That only made me clench my fists harder. I took a step forward, he didn't flinch.
"I'll be real with you. Leave me alone or else" I threatened.
"Oh. " he threw his hands into the air. "What will I ever do. A man in blindfolds who can't even see where he is going is being threatened by a man who kills people and hearses voices!!" He cried, "heavens me!!" He rested his hands back down to his aides and leaned against the wall.
"Shut. Up. " my face was burning. My knuckles were white, my arms were shaking.
He giggled to himself.
I stormed past him and shoved him out of my way before stomping to the cafeteria.
There were no empty tables so I settled with a table with a man whose hood was on. I sat on the other side of him, and I could only see his mouth, his skin was very very pale, and there were like two red lines going down his cheeks.
He was reading a book and mumbling under his breath.
"Hey. " I whispered.
"Yes?" He replied. He didn't look up from his book. He had a strong British accent.
" there weren't any other tables and I was wondering if you were fine with me staying here? " I stated, well. More like asked.
He only huffed in response, I'm taking that as a yes.I leaned over the table trying to catch a glimpse of the book he was oh so interested in, but I couldn't read anything. All the words looked like scribbles.
"Whatcha reading?" I asked. I know it's kinda rude to ask that but my curiosity got the best of me.
"Spells. " he replied dully.
I hated asking this question because that's when everything goes south. But- "why are you here? You seem chill." I asked.
Worried of his reaction. He finally got his nose out of his book and he looked at me, I still couldn't see his eyes, but his nose showed a little bit more.
"Because I was doing a ritual for a spell, no, not a satanic ritual. But it backfired and one of the everlasting consequences was insanity. " he sighed. His accent really brought out the t's.
"Oh. " I said. He doesn't seem insane.
He smiled a small, sad smile. But help his hand out, "James. "
I smiled back, "Tom!"
