EJ POV

Fire.

Unrelenting fire.

It's burning me alive! It's searing my flesh, burning my mind, crackling in my lungs, I can't stop it.

Someone make it end!

Then suddenly, after what seemed like a lifetime, it slowly started to fade and I became more and more aware.

My eyes shot open and I jumped out of the hospital gurney, trying to put out the rest of the fire.

"Edward? Edward! It's alright! You're alright! Stop!" Mother grabbed my arms and restricted me from beating myself.

"But, the fire." I clenched my teeth, still feeling the prickling burning sensation.

"There's no fire Edward." Mother smoothed down my hair and showed me my unburned arms.

"He could very well still be experiencing the effects of the venom Bella." Grampa Carlisle told her.

"Venom?" I questioned. "I thought I had the flu?"

"No, I found traces of a foreign vampires venom in your system. That's what caused your body to shut down the way it did." He explains to me.

"What? Who's venom?" I demanded, venom still burning me.

"We don't know yet." Grampa sighed.

"No, but I think I do." My father grumbled, coming into the room holding a letter up. "Take this from me before I rip it to shreds." He handed it to my mother quickly and then came to hug me.

My mother read it with wide, shocked eyes. By the time she finished reading she had tears lining her eyes and a expression of intense rage on her face.

"How dare they." She muttered.

"What? What's going on?" I asked.

"Show him Bella, he has a right to know." My father told her, she reluctantly agreed and passed me the letter.

Dear Cullen Family,
So sorry to hear of young Edward Juniors medical problems, but, in all honestly he deserves whatever becomes of that dose of venom he revived. The hybrid twins are becoming more and more of a nuisance. Renesmee being blinded and Edward being detained by venom is due punishment from us, for now.

And, if you care for them and your covens livelihood, you need to consider our previous offer made to Isabella. We will be awaiting her response before moving onto our next course of punishment.

With dearest regards,
The Volturi Coven.

"The Volturi did this to me?" I questioned confusingly.

"Yes it seems so." Mother sighed deeply. "And it also appears they were behind your sisters incident as well."

"They blinded my sister." I grumbled, anger rushing violently through me.

"Hey, everything will be okay. I'll fix this." Mother coed, rubbing her hand up and down my arm comfortably.

"How? What are you going to do? Accept whatever they offered you?" I asked worriedly.

"Yes." She whispered.

"What type of offer did they propose to you exactly?" My father asked, raising an eyebrow in questioning.

"You won't like it, but Edward I have to do it or-" Mother started panicking.

"Or what? They'll come kill us?" He laughed, cutting her off.

She looked at him with such a sad blank expression that we immediately knew the answer.

"Bella, are they threatening us?" My father demanded.

"Yes." She whispered.

"Why? What happened?" He worried over her.

"It was so long ago, and I thought he was only kidding-. I didn't think it would ever come to this." She started breaking down.

"What. Happened." I asked calmly, putting my hands on both sides of her face to calm her down.

"Aro wanted me to join the guard, he wanted my shield. He knew I would never join while I had you two to keep track of. When Renesmee was blinded he regretfully let me leave, only now I realize he was regretful because he was hoping I would bring you two to him for help. Do you both see now? Aro won't stop until I've joined the guard." She cried.

"It's okay." I brought her into my arms tightly and she latched onto me.

"No, it's not. We've got to figure out a plan." Dad sighed.

"We will. We have time." Grampa Carlisle put a reassuring hand on dads shoulder.

"EJ, call your sister, tell her the situation, and have her bring the Denalies to the house immediately, please." Dad told me. I nodded and went into the hall quickly pulling out my cell from my back pocket.

"Edward?!" Ren cried.

"Yes, it's me, I'm fine." I chuckled at my sisters anxiety.

"I was so worried! I'm on my way back to the house now." She laughed.

"Hey Ren, wait just a second I've got something important to tell you." I stopped her and told her the full situation and asked her to bring the Denalies with her.

"Of course Edward. See you soon, try not to let mom panic so much." She responded and hung up.

As I opened the door to the study I saw my parents, wrapped in each other's arms and whispering reassuring words to each other.

Looks like mother is finally opening up.

"Oh! EJ, you scared me." Mom laughed.

"Oh, please, don't let me stop you." I chuckled.

"Edward, why don't you come sit over here and let me try to flush out the rest of the venom from your system." Grampa showed me over to the gurney he had set up.

"Is the venom still bothering you?" Mom asked, brushing my hair back away from my eyes.

At the mention of it, I felt my skin crawl from the slow unrelenting burn of the venom as it silently drove me insane.

"Yeah, I think I am." I clenched my teeth and Grampa stuck me with an IV.
