Matt was told that dogs can track smells of people even if they got in a car and drove somewhere. It may be harder for the dogs but it was possible. Matt didn't need something to be easy, just possible.

Four dogs were sent out to the scene and started tracking. They had the smell of Kyle so all Matt had to do was wait. Ross and Matt waited for answers about the dogs but they also examined the scene. Ross got a call and took it while Matt looked at the basement. How had Kyle built this place so easily?

Ross came over to him and said, "That was the second round of officers with the dogs. They were twenty miles away and had to switch officers again. Kyle must have gone far." He said.

Matt continued to check for evidence but found nothing. He could get a better chance when the forensic team arrives to look for fingerprints and blood splatters. Matt wondered where Kyle was planning on going and what his plan was. Ross ran over to Matt and said, "You and I are going to take over with the dogs now."

The men got in their cars and drove fifty-five minutes to where exhausted officers waited for them. Matt was surprised at how far the dogs had gone but he was extremely pleased with their work. Matt and Ross took the dogs by the leash and the other officers took their cars and left. Ross yelled the signal to the dogs that they were to start. The dogs took off in a sprint dragging Matt and Ross behind them. The day time was coming and Matt worried that Kyle would leave wherever he was in the morning. They were running out of time.

The dogs ran for what felt like forever until Matt started getting tired. He knew he couldn't give up, not when they were on the same path as Kyle. Sweat ran down Matt's face and his breathing was fast. His face was probably turning red and exhaustion would kick in. Matt and Ross were both in good shape and could go a little while longer before calling in the next officers to relieve them. The dogs slowed down when they reached an old abandoned house. Then Matt saw a car parked on the side of the house that was hidden behind trees. Kyle was here, he had to be.

This was the moment of truth, the moment where he would get his daughter back. Ross stopped the dogs and said, "This is it, I have a good feeling about this."

"Okay, I'll go in through the front and you stay here and cover me." Matt said.

He was kind of nervous about going in alone but he didn't care as long as he got his daughter back. He was just too desperate to see her. Matt got his walkie talkie and signaled for back up. He reached for his gun and drew it out. He nodded at Ross and ran to the front door of the house. They tied the dogs to a nearby tree since they weren't trained to attack, just to track criminals.

The house was a mess and had no power so it would be dark. Matt slowly turned the knob with anticipation. Matt prayed to himself. "Please let my daughter and Brooklyn Williams be okay and safe. Please let myself be safe in there. Let me catch Kyle and Marcus to make Colorado safer and to give peace to the people who lost their daughters."

Matt turned the knob and slowly opened the door. He walked in trying to be as quiet as he could trying not to wake or be heard by Kyle. He closed the door behind him and took a step and a creaking noise was made by Matt. Then Matt heard footsteps upstairs. He raised his gun to the top of the stairs where Kyle appeared.

"Drop your gun or I'll kill her, Matt!" Kyle yelled.

He then pulled Kelly over by him and held the gun to her head. Matt put his hands up and bent down and placed his gun on the floor, keeping his hands up after. Matt's heart was beating out of control but all he could rest his eyes on was his daughter and that terrified look she had on her face. He couldn't imagine how she felt when she realized that Kyle was the man who kidnapped her.

"Why are you doing this Kyle?" Matt asked, still in shock about seeing his best friend holding a gun to Kelly's head.

"Many reasons actually. First, it started because I wanted Marcus out of jail and then it was because I love your daughter. It's a win-win situation for me." He said.

Matt didn't even recognize his friend anymore. Everything about him was different. Never in a million years did Matt think Kyle was capable of this. He wanted to attack Kyle when he said that he loved Kelly because that sick monster kidnapped my daughter out of revenge first, not love. He didn't care about her anymore. Matt wished that he could call for Ross but he knew he couldn't. It would be just Kyle and Matt.
