*Aella's Point of View*
It was a clear, crisp morning the day talk of war started. I had been eating my breakfast when I heard two male voices getting louder. All of a sudden, the door that led outside of our house swung open, revealing my husband, Nasr, and his friend, Kael, talking. They looked concerned and stressed as they quickly made their way to a table on the opposite side of the courtyard than me. I couldn't help but listen.
"I had thought we were on the same page," Nasr accused his companion.
"We are! I believe we should go to war, too. I am only worried that others will disagree," Kael replied. I was one of the people who hated war. I was afraid that my family would get hurt or worse in a situation like that.
"We will need many soldiers," my husband continued. "Sander has been doing well in training. I know he will fight along side me." My mouth almost dropped. I would not let my 10 year old son fight, even if he was a good fighter and Nasr wanted him to. The two men chatted about their oldest boys before my husband about gave me a heart attack. "If worse comes to worse, Jac can fight." I clenched my fists and almost stood up to go punch him. I would never let my baby, who was 6, fight in a war on my watch. I slowly stood from the table and left the courtyard. I went upstairs and to my two sons' bedroom. I pulled them both close to me when I entered.
"Daddy wants you to fight in a war with him. Please say no, for me," I begged my sons. They both nodded and hugged me back. I saw the fear in their eyes when I mentioned 'fighting' and 'war', and it made me the tiniest bit glad. My babies knew that war was deadly, unlike their father.
*1 year later*
The war has been here for a while now. I have heard of many deaths and tragedies from other families. And they have heard some from mine. Nasr died in the one of the earlier battles. His last words to me were, "I can handle myself, woman. Now go weave your life away." My last words to him were, "Be safe. I love you." I have kept Sander and Jac safe at home. I am to remarry with Kael soon. He is much more reasonable than my late husband. I hope to keep my two sons and daughter safe during this war, or I may never forgive myself.

We've been learning about ancient Greece, so this was the theme. War. It was set in Athens, if you didn't know.
