Mammy was his life after his family's death and even the thought of her getting older brought tears to Stan's eyes. "How will he be able to take it?" Was the only question in my mind on my drive down to the police station. As Soon as I saw stan I tried to hold back tears but instead burst into a puddle. Stan instantly knew what had happened. There was not a single difference in his facial expressions, just a plain poker face. There was no dropping down, no running down the road aimlessly and no crying rivers, just a plain face like that of acceptance.

I had several questions in my mind " does he not really care about mammy's death?" , " has he lost all emotions?" , " does he really know what happened?" , " has he become so stone-hearted that he won't even react?" , " has he broken from inside?"
I got him bailed out and we got into my car. The whole journey from the lockup to Stan's house was full of awkward silence . the following days were spent in mammy's funeral and all through it Stan remained composed, as if he had accepted the hard truth and was ready to lead a normal life . A couple of days passed and everything was normal but the next day when I went to meet stan, all I could see was Stan's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan. I went numb, a series of shocks went down my spine, I couldn't let out a sound let alone a shriek .
