Marinette Dupain-Cheng is the daughter of the most well known bakers in Paris, but is forced to help with the bakery when all she wants to do is draw. Meanwhile, Adrien Agreste is the son of a famous workaholic that creates lines of clothes of the latest fashion, and sometimes Adrien feels his father loves his designs more than he loves him.
Their paths cross at their first day of grade school and they end up becoming friends because of their similarities, and even differences, and grow up with each other. Soon as they reach their teens, they develop feelings for each other, but are unable to express them to each other because of their new secrets. Their new identities.
